A prayer request for my friend(VANITY)

Posted on 12/20/2005 7:47:29 PM PST by ozaukeemom

I am still unfamiliar with posting threads.

I just heard from one of my best friends in Texas. She has been diagnosed with MS.This wonderful, conservative lady is only 40 and has two young children. She is lucky in that her husband and family are the best there could be. Regardless, I would like to ask for prayers for her and her family. They believe her MS is the easiest to live with, but still... Thank you for your time and prayers.

She is an amazing woman.Lots of spunk and very positive. We actually kidded saying that her picture would be next to the topic in the encyclopedia as the first person cured from MS. She is such a ball of fire! Her little girls will give her strength as well as her parents, her brother(Bubba!-yes, we call him that!)and her wonderful husband. She has all of the ingredients for a positive outlook. Between prayer and her friends and family, I think she has a great chance for a long, productive life.

Thank you all for your prayers.I do believe in the power of prayer and she does too.

Let us believe the good Lord shall provide the way for her MS to not advance beyond the stage it is at present. Of course if it is in HIS perfect will to show HIS glory HE will heal her. Let us believe in faith HE will work out a solution for her that she can live with.

She has had 2 in the last few months. They diagnosed them as strokes initially. But, it may indeed be a long time before she has another. Thank you.

I have MS. I suggest your friend find a Neurologist who speiializes in MS. She can also find some excellent information from the National MS society. MS is not always fully disabling so till your friend not to lose hope.
I am on Avonex which has kept my MS stable. I am disabled mostly because of cognitive problems and depression. But many people have much milder bouts of MS then I do.

That is the med she was speaking about. They are planning on an agressive attack on the disease. She was recommended by her Dr not to go to support groups for awhile, because it might be unnecessary stress right now. But, she will research and read and listen to anythig she can get her hands on.She is quite intelligent and feisty to boot!A real Texan!

Biogen the company that manufactures Avonex is also a good source of info on MS. The company holds seminars in different areas of the Country with various experts on MS. I have not been because I can not drive a whole lot. They will also teach your friend how to self inject. I have an LPN friend who gives me the injections. I have the medicine delivered right to my home. I am fortunate to have good insurance from where I retired. Avonex is very expensive otherwise.
I pray your friend will do well and have a mild course.
God bless and Merry Christmas.

Prayers for your friend. May she feel the Lord beside her on her path, and may this bring her great comfort, peace, and strength. May this trial bring her even closer to God, so that her faith and prayer may sustain her. May God bless and guide the hands that will care for your friend, and grant wisdom so that the right decisions can be made for the best course of treatment. May the Lord bless all who love your friend, and help to bring them peace as well.
