Boxer Impeachment Letter
Boxer senator online ^ | 12/19/2005 | Barbara Boxer

Posted on 12/19/2005 6:48:51 PM PST by stocksthatgoup

Boxer’s letter is as follows:

On December 16, along with the rest of America, I learned that President Bush authorized the National Security Agency to spy on Americans without getting a warrant from a judge. President Bush underscored his support for this action in his press conference today.

On Sunday, December 18, former White House Counsel John Dean and I participated in a public discussion that covered many issues, including this surveillance. Mr. Dean, who was President Nixon’s counsel at the time of Watergate, said that President Bush is “the first President to admit to an impeachable offense.” Today, Mr. Dean confirmed his statement.

This startling assertion by Mr. Dean is especially poignant because he experienced first hand the executive abuse of power and a presidential scandal arising from the surveillance of American citizens.

Given your constitutional expertise, particularly in the area of presidential impeachment, I am writing to ask for your comments and thoughts on Mr. Dean’s statement.

Unchecked surveillance of American citizens is troubling to both me and many of my constituents. I would appreciate your thoughts on this matter as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Barbara Boxer
United States Senator

Join the party of pissed off freepers. I probably won't sleep tonight. I've avoided their ugliness all day, until this.

Why? It just shows how stupid it is. I'm laughing at her arrogance, or is it ignorance, actually, its some weird combination of both.

Barbie while a memeber of the House, had problems balancing her check book, she was one of the worst offenders during the banking scandal....wonder how her check book is now....It must be hectic for her to balance her family life, especially the grandson who has a Uncle Bill Clinton, sexual predator, and another uncle Hugh Rodham, who is connected with the drug business...

Who did she address the letter to? Or was it just floated out into space where her typical constituents would receive it?

How can they be so confident? THEY passed the very legislation that gives him the power to do what he's doing.

They don't remember it...

Remember the support Clinton got from the country when he was impeached?

It has to come from the House; who do they think will vote for it?

They are going to play it up in the Media

They know they can't get the house to vote for it .. so they will try to paint them as corrupt who is protecting the President

All they have are lies to smear with

They have no facts

This is a PR stunt for the 2006 elections which start in a couple months

Selective memory, they remember it, they just choose not to remember it. Kind of like selective hearing.

Yup. The public won't stand for this. Not during a time of war. And not for this president.

The stunt will backfire -- most Americans support the President's actions.

Bush's numbers will go through the roof and it will be a landslide in 2006.

Let them have at it.

I'm confident enough to know that George Bush didn't break the law -- and that he has the evidence to clear himself and condemn them.

The next time that our people pick up an intercept of terrorists that are heading Senator Boxer's way; what does the esteemed Senator wish our nasty spy folks to do?

To take it to court and ask permission to stop the terrorists

I am truly amazed at this state of California.

Some of the nicest, friendliest people live in this area in conservative Southern California.

Just don't understand how they can continually elect old no morals gasbag's to office.
