Most people don't realize that the media is spinning a lie so I voted yes to let them know I approve of what the President did.

Karl....you are correct...watched a little of Dayside today and those two clowns...well one clown and Julia Huddy...she's way smarter than her male counterpart. Anyway Judge Neopolitan or whatever his NY slicky boy is named and he was haranguing about Bush broke the law....comments from the audience indicated that none of them knew these only involved international calls. Now the real question..Where has Linda Vestor disappeared too? I miss that girl...what a bright lady.

The judge was on Fox & Friend this a m spouting this same drivel. If he's so smart why is he on Fox News and not the SCOTUS. Another mouthpiece brought forward by the OJ trial.

I've about sworn off Fox News. Think they pulled the old bait and switch on conservatives.

It is NOT a "domestic" spying program. All of the several dozen phone calls or e-mails that were targeted, were INTERNATIONAL, with an overseas contact who had been targeted as an Al Qaeda associate.

This domestic claim is another proof of Mark Twain's dictum that, "A lie can go around the world while truth is still getting its trousers on."

I was aware of a program to spy on international communications which involved US residents, but since it is international it isn't domestic.

Where were the wiretaps? Were they in the US? If they were, then they were domestic. The wiretaps were in the US. The spying was domestic. QED.

(More spin, disingenuousness noun and outright lies by the MSM).

The MSM doesn't have to. Plenty of Freepers like you to do their spinning for them.

Many, such as the so called Judge...don't have a lick of common sense....all he can think of is a law book as the bad guys blow his slicky boy butt to smithereens....that's commonly called being "Dead Right"!

So, you're telling me that ALL of the wiretaps, etc, were placed outside of the US? No? They were all inside the US, weren't they? If one side of the conversation was in the US, and the wiretap was in the US, then the taps were domestic.

We're still winning despite the lying question. Let's keep freeping it. It's nice to be on the winning side of these fixed MSM polls for a change.

Wow, have you ever missed the boat. The calls or whatever are called "international" when they cross a national border. The same applied during WW II, when the OSS (predecessor of the CIA) kept close track on all contacts between the US and German, Japan and Italy. You would have classified that as "domestic" also?

You are also behind the curve in calling these wiretaps. They were not. They used satellites (in space, it was in all the papers) or possibly taps into communications cables on the ocean floor (those cables are in international waters). Get a grip. Bad facts are the enemy of clear thinking.

Misleading title.. remember the original report stated that international phone calls and e-mails were tapped

Exactly. From what I understand of this program and what the President authorized is to listen in to phone calls originating from outside the USA.

Also, if I have my facts correct, virtually all of the tapped calls came from information gathered from computers, disks, paperwork captured from dead or in-custody terrorists. Phone numbers within the USA which were found this way were obviously suspect.

What these Old MSM types fail to report is that this type of covert activity was going on 100% WITHIN the USA during the Klinton administration. First that comes to mind is the OC bombing where Klinton authorized that the NSA resources by used to track down the bombers using spy satellites among other things. The second example would be Waco.
