EvJust remember this...every cry of foul, or complaint by the left and the DNC is simply an admission of their own guilt of the same.

The DNC released a statement today that says the president is lying when he says he briefed members of Congress.

Has the DNC not been paying attention? Pelosi and Reid have ADMITTED publicly they were briefed. OMG

Nancy Pelosi: I Was Briefed on NSA Program (She Signed Off On It)
Newsmax ^ | Dec. 18, 2005

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi confessed late Saturday that she signed off on President Bush's decision to have a top intelligence agency conduct "unspecified activities" to gather intelligence on possible terrorists operating inside the U.S. in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.

"I was advised of President Bush's decision to provide authority to the National Security Agency to conduct unspecified activities shortly after he made it and have been provided with updates on several occasions," Pelosi admitted.

The San Francisco Democrat claimed she expressed "strong concerns" about the "unspecified activities" at the time, but offered no evidence to that effect.

Pelosi declined to explain why she didn't make public her concerns about the authorization, which Democrats now say was an outrageous abuse of civil rights.

Instead, Pelosi admitted keeping silent about the "unspecified activities" even though she now believes they may have been illegal, saying Bush's acknowledgment of the NSA program on Saturday "raises serious questions as to what the activities were and whether the activities were lawful."

On Sunday, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid also admitted he kept silent about the controversial program, even though he was briefed on its existence "a couple of months ago."

Still, he insisted that it made no difference that Democratic congressional leaders knew about the NSA program, telling Fox News Sunday: "This is something that's [the responsibility of] the president and the vice president and there's no way he can pass the buck."

And for the leftists who are lying and say that the legislation does not permit wiretapping of US citizens, this is the pertinent language that DOES permit wiretapping US citizens if they are in communication with foreign enemies (like Al Qaeda).

Return to section 1801, subsection (i): "United States person," which includes citizens, legal aliens, and businesses, explicitly "does not include a corporation or an association which is a foreign power."

Well sure, but does that mean that even if you are a citizen you cash in your abovementioned rights by collaborating with terrorists? Yes you do. You have then become an "Agent of a foreign power" as defined under subsection (b)(2)(C). Such agents include anyone who "knowingly engages in sabotage or international terrorism, or activities that are in preparation therefor, for or on behalf of a foreign power," and even includes those who aid and abet or knowingly conspire with those engaged in such behavior.

Wait, that includes anyone, even citizens? Yes — subsection (b)(1) is the part that applies to foreigners; (b)(2) covers everybody. And the whole point of the act is to collect "foreign intelligence information," which is defined under section 1801 subsection (e)(1)(B) as "information that relates to, and if concerning a United States person is necessary to, the ability of the United States to protect against sabotage or international terrorism by a foreign power or an agent of a foreign power."

Who cares?

They just keep digging that hole deeper. I'd help, but they seem to be doing a bangup job themselves.

That hold card just isn't....

Pelosi has admitted she was briefed as well. The Democrats can't keep their lies straight. That's the problem with lying - you have to keep track of what you said. If you tell the truth you don't have to.

They are so so screwed. The Howard Dean Democrats are going to force their party to ride their rabid stupidity down in flames. Doesn't matter what the "New Democrats" want. The Deanies are going to destroy the party just like the McGovernites demolished it in 1972 only this time their will be NO Watergate to save them.

Oooooooo.

I'd love for Bush to authorize the release, with appropriate redactions, of the minutes from the Congressional briefings. I'm willing to bet that the rats were fully briefed.

I would so love to shove this crap right down their throats, or up some other orifice.

It's not on their website yet, but I did find this:

A congressional report made public yesterday concluded that President Bush and his inner circle had access to more intelligence and reviewed more sensitive material than what was shared with Congress when it gave Bush the authority to wage war against Iraq.

The report does not cite examples of intelligence Bush reviewed that differed from what Congress saw. If such information is available, the report's authors do not have access to it.

We know Bush lied...we don't have the proof...but we know he did! Good grief...they must have found a job for Dan Rather at the DNC, ROTFLMAO!
