Channel 4 has some info and a video up now:

The weekend theft from a Bernalillo County engineering firm of enough explosives to destroy and large building has local and federal law enforcement agencies on alert.

The theft occurred Sunday from Cherry Engineering, Inc. Authorities describe the explosives as several hundred pounds of blasting pins and charges.

At a Monday afternoon news conference, Bernalillo County Sheriff Darren White refused to identify the location where the explosives were being held.

A federal Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agent says the explosives are enough to destroy a small building and that a small quantity of the explosives that were taken is frequently used by engineering firms to take out steel girders.

The owner of Cherry Engineering is described as a Sandia national Laboratories employee but officials say there was no relationship between the labs and the firm.

In addition to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department and the ATF, New Mexico State Police, the Albuquerque Police Department and the FBI are all involved in the investigation.

The ATF and the FBI are offering a $50,000 reward to anyone who provides information allowing officials to recover the stolen explosives. If you have information, you’re being urged to contact Crimestoppers.
