Oh...like Rockefeller? For some reason, I just think that he and his office have very loose lips...
And, since we are at war...I wish President Bush would have used that saying Saturday morning..."loose lips, sink ships", when showing his disgust for the NYTimes printing such highly classifed information...
I read the Mumbles thread....he's a blowhard....but Turley scared me....Im not sure of his political standing....I do remember he was sure Bush would win in the SC in 2000...
Sic James Baker on Turley.
It will all be okay; there's no way that Congress has been briefed about something that was illegal and they are just now going to act.
Exactly. Also, the Toon did the same thing in a period when we were not at war.
I know...I've been reading your post and I just can't see where Bush broke the law......I'm not a lawyer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night..LOL
From another thread:
"Former senator Bob Graham (D-Fla.), who chaired the Senate intelligence committee and is the only participant thus far to describe the meetings extensively and on the record, said in interviews Friday night and yesterday that he remembers "no discussion about expanding [NSA eavesdropping] to include conversations of U.S. citizens or conversations that originated or ended in the United States" -- and no mention of the president's intent to bypass the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court."
FOLLOWED BY:
"The high-ranking intelligence official, who spoke with White House permission but said he was not authorized to be identified by name, said Graham is "misremembering the briefings," which in fact were "very, very comprehensive." The official declined to describe any of the substance of the meetings, but said they were intended "to make sure the Hill knows this program in its entirety, in order to never, ever be faced with the circumstance that someone says, 'I was briefed on this but I had no idea that -- ' and you can fill in the rest."
By Graham's account, the official said, "it appears that we held a briefing to say that nothing is different . . . . Why would we have a meeting in the vice president's office to talk about a change and then tell the members of Congress there is no change?""
Turley also said that Bush committed a federal crime and is subject to impeachment...my heart sank at that moment.....more ammo for the rats...
I loathe, detest, despise, hate, abhor...the left.
Ahhhhhhhhh James Baker...those were nerve wrecking days...
hehehe.
Maybe Turley has gone to the dark side. We've seen that happen before.
I listened to Mark Levin this evening...he was very enlightening...also, the MSM did not air the AG's presser this morning where he laid it all out...
This was one great *ss-kicking press conference. G.W. is great when he's pissed.
Read about all the naysayers, including Turley. It doesn't matter...to impeach they would have to get a majority in the House, and that won't happen.
Turley is a Turd.
So the AG did have a presser? I looked and looked for it but couldn't find it. Maybe he should stand with the president at the next press conference and they will be FORCED to cover what he has to say.
They are working very hard to prevent that. I don't think they will succeed, but they will give it all they've got.
Wasn't it Reagen who said...read my lips...W has 24/7 legal counsel, they'd NEVER allow him to do something that WAS NOT LEGAL. That you can take to the bank!!! I don't care what Turley says...he's wrongo, on this one.
I watched Graham. He was lying. I just hope that the Administration kept sufficient records to prove it.
Alito will be confirmed in January.
I know Turley's wrong...but I always cringe when I hear the *I* word....I just know that's what they have in store for Bush if they win the House in 06
