SoldiersPrayingMom just phoned me in tears to report that Sgt. Greg Parkinson (jmpmstr4u2) had been injured in the explosion of an improvised explosive device.
The Department of Defense called Greg's wife, Tammy, to inform her of the injury just after midnight California Time. They told her that he had been evacuated to a field hospital, that he had all of his limbs, but that he has injuries in his left arm and back.
SoldiersPrayingMom requests all Freepers to pray for healing and complete recovery. Pray for his Mom and Dad, Ruth (SoldiersPrayingMom) and Jim Parkinson, Greg's wife, Tammy, and his two daughters who face uncertainties and fear for his condition. Greg and his family need all of your prayers and support.
Developing!
Hang in there Sarge...better days are on their way for you...
Continued prayers for the safety of Greg and all of our heroes!
God Bless You and Your Son!
Thank the Lord in Heaven for the wonderful news!
That's good news. I've read from this poster in times past. Here's to hoping this new talk of cooperation takes hold and his mishap becomes a rare occurence in the future, damn dirty tactics and all.
Thanks, MoJo, for sending this prayer request to the Navy Chaplain.
Dear Lord comfort Greg and his family, we earestly pray in Christ's name Amen.
And prayers for all his companions.
Prayer bump.
I will remember to pray for him.
Prayers to the lord for a complete recovery and strength to his family.
Dear Father, please let Greg feel Your Arms about him. May his buddies feel your presence as well, and may his family know you are God.
Heal this good man, please Father. In Jesus name we pray...

Late checking in, Swordmaker, thank you for your ping. When I read Greg had been injured in an IED explosion, it was as tho one of my sons had been injured. As I was reading all the heartfelt comments and prayers, and composing one of my own, I decided to skip to the end and work back. Miracle of miracles, there was the good news that Greg has already been released! What a range of emotion in just one day--his family must all be totally exhausted. Please know that we are praying for all our troops every day.
Prayers that the Lord will be with Greg, his men and all those who are caring for them, and especially with his parents, his wife Tammy and his daughter. May you all feel the loving arms of all these Freepers out here who are surrounding you with prayers and thanksgiving for this wonderful news! And for these men who are keeping us safe, thank you does not seem adequate.
Adding my prayers for him and the family.
That's great news! Thank God! Prayers that Greg and his men make it home safely soon.
