SoldiersPrayingMom just phoned me in tears to report that Sgt. Greg Parkinson (jmpmstr4u2) had been injured in the explosion of an improvised explosive device.
The Department of Defense called Greg's wife, Tammy, to inform her of the injury just after midnight California Time. They told her that he had been evacuated to a field hospital, that he had all of his limbs, but that he has injuries in his left arm and back.
SoldiersPrayingMom requests all Freepers to pray for healing and complete recovery. Pray for his Mom and Dad, Ruth (SoldiersPrayingMom) and Jim Parkinson, Greg's wife, Tammy, and his two daughters who face uncertainties and fear for his condition. Greg and his family need all of your prayers and support.

This is tough on the family and friends. We have some children and nephews and neighbors over there. We're very proud of them all, but it is dangerous. I'd like to say so far so good, but that isn't true: four soldiers from here have been killed in Iraq since last summer. But, every one of them is doing what they most want to do, and who can ask for more.

Psalms 91 with interjections
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust."
For he will deliver Sgt. Greg Parkinson from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence; he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You, Sgt. Greg Parkinson, will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, or the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you, Sgt. Greg Parkinson.
You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord your refuge, the Most High your habitation, no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent.
In Jesus' name, we pray for Sgt. Greg Parkinson's complete recovery. Amen
