Bravo, you have identified the problem well if it was a Independent Press we were dealing with here today...we are not...this is a conspiracy strategy, and we accidentally found this Bush hate-out from the Dim traitor Rockefeller MEMO from the Intelligence Committee...this is all part of the sedition by the dims today...the leftist press is so biased with hate they cannot even piss straight much less look objectively at the wonderful security the Bush admin has provided the Country in-spite of their hate and rage...Dims...until your party makes a radical turn to at least look at the moderates in your party like Joe Lieberman...you will continue to blow away any chance to be in power... And we will never believe Hildabeast Clinton is a Centrist...your words mean nothing to us anymore only your actions speak for you...and right now it a very ugly impression!!! Jim

Man - this story makes me tired just thinking about how my libtard co-workers will be dancing in glee over this on Monday. The Lefty blogs are in full freakout mode over this.
I'm tired because I think this story is a big fat nothing and there is no way the America haters can be convinced otherwise.

Agreed.
Again, the underlying and stated assumption is that 1) The President was acting in a lawful fashion when he authorized tapping into some Domestic communications and 2) From that, the person who leaked the fact of this activity was disclosing secret, substantial intelligence methods/processes and 3) They leaked to a reporter who then reported it in the NYT.
The reporter had the right to report and his reporting breaks no laws that I am aware of. On the other hand the Courts or Prosecutor could determine that laws were broken by the reporters source and could obtain an order requiring disclosure of the source or imprisonment for contempt.
We could disagree about whether the reporter should ever be compelled to disclose a source (I think if it can be conclusively demonstrated that laws were broken they should) but this is how I see it possibly playing out - And I would very much like to know his source.

Just to Recap:
The Patriot Act, is under fire from people that want the war on terror to fail.
In a nut shell, the Democrats and the Lockstep Liberal Media think another Terrorist Act on the US, is just a phoney issue, to increase monitoring of US Citizens.
No attacks since 9-11, so the War is a Rumor - it never happened, according to the liberal media and the Democratic Leadership.
Cancel the Patriot Act, and let's not worry anymore.
PLEASE give me a break!
The Democrats are trying to seize another phoney issue, it will not work.
Cut and Run from Iraq failed.
Flamegate failed, LOL, Karl Rove exposes a CIA CLERK! Details at 11.
The Iraqi vote was a huge success, and the NYT releases a story and the author is putting out a book.
By the way, check the stock price on symbol NYT, its a great short opportunity.
and now its the NSA, and members of congress leaking secret information that they were well informed of all along in secret briefings.
More of the Democrats desperately trying to make Iraq into Vietnam.
John Kerry again, stabbing our troops in the back, talking about our troops in the Field. Did he mention Gengis Khan?
All this in the last week, are there any other Liberal Democrat and Lockstep Liberal Media Manufactured issues to discuss?
Anyway, Freerepublic, and the Conservative Talk Shows always, WIN THE DAY! Take no Prisoners!

I agree with your great disappointment, however, this is a 9/11/05 moment in History...we have a Democratically elected Government in Iraq that is more informed than most dims, that is a Tsunami of change in the ME and will not be thwarted by the insurgency, or Al Quaida...and with our Pajama outrage over the lies, and treason by the left and their bought enablers both in and outside our Government, and now with Bush's speech today and tomorrow...our president will take the dims head on...no more patty cake can't we all just just aaa get along...NO MORE, vote for Patriots that know speak and do what they say they will do!

Why do you say that? I could see it only if his disclosure was of illegal acts and I have full confidence that these activities were entirely legal, in furtherance of the Presidents responsibilities for National Defense/Security. To boot, they were properly disclosed to appropriate oversight bodies in Congress. W's actions will only be deemed 'Illegal' in the MSM but not in any other legal forum IMO. It's not only the falseness of the charges that is a problem. That would not be directly providing aid and comfort to the enemy. Rather it's the revelation of sensitive intelligence methods in the ongoing war against the Terrorists. That is what should get someone or several someones stood up a against a wall and shot.

Neither will happen..He'll be a media darling in a week.In the name of hating Bush blindly all these a holes are putting myself and you all in personal danger. I hold the Times and the ACLU, amongst others, responsible for the next 9/11 .And yes, there will be another 9/11 for sure. Only this one will be even more lethal.
To: PhiKapMom
No special prosecutor -- there is a lot of classified info -- this is a job for the Chief DOJ prosecutor IMHO. That would be the Solicitor General, Paul D. Clement. However I think it would be extremely fitting if the immediate past Solicitor General, Theodore B. Olson, whose wife was killed by the terrorists on 9-11, in the plane that hit the Pentagon, were be brought back to prosecute the case.
