ERIC ALBRECHT | DISPATCH Tom Ullum, who owns the Pleasure Inn in Mason, told the Civil Rights Commission that he doesn

The sign indicates that the shop owner only speaks English, and you'll have to order in that language for him to understand you. Stupid civil rights witch-hunters.
We hear all languages, but only understand english.
¡Qué lastima!
Let me say again, I am SO glad to be in the latter years of my life and not the early years. I would not want to be growing up in the America of today. I know things weren't as good as I recall them, but they sure weren't as screwy as they are today. Next businesses will be required to have a translator on site to help those who don't speak English.
PC gone wild
Ok, would somebody please explain to me which of those categories the tavern owner supposedly violated.
This is just ridiculous, paging George Orwell.
But he was very un-PC. That's a crime in America today.
----
The bar sign should read...
"No illegals, no illiterates, no liberals, no communists, and f-ing Democrats" --- AMERICANS ONLY!!
He wasn't "un-PC", perhaps he and and his staff just don't speak every *ucking language and dialect.
Hell.
If they don't like it, there's other place to go that do speak their damn language.
I've had it with this whiney ass crap from race baiting bastards that have nothing to do but keep stirring the pot.
Leave this small business owner alone, the market will decide. This is America, I think.
flame away, who cares. I've a robusto, an adult beverage and FR.
no f-ing Democrats? There goes the floor show.
Only in liberal American can this happen:
- Use your own hard earned money to start a PRIVATE, NON-GOV FUNDED BUSINESS, make a personal statement and be forced to
"attend diversity-sensitivity classes"
"run ads with messages of tolerance in local newspapers"
Ok then, play their game. When they come in speaking something besides english, ignore them and walk away. You DO have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.
Man this really pulls my trigger! The vein is throbbing on the side of my temple!
If one is to believe the reporter, Ohio law does not prohibit discrimination on the basis of language.
The comparison to "Whites Only" signs is ridiculous. Millions of personsof every race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, national origin or ancestryspeak English. The requirement that customers of this bar make their wishes known in a tongue intelligible to the owner is an entirely reasonable one.
What's your pleasure?
Speaking in a particular language is a *behavior*, not a classification. He's merely demanding a particular behavior of his customers, much like requiring that they wear shoes and shirts, wear pants, pay in US dollars, don't spit on the floor, don't wear gang attire, etc.
I was at McDonalds one day and they should've had a sign out front telling me, "For service speak Tagalog." It would've saved me time, and I could've just gone to Burger King.

boy that's a seriously biased article. do you think you might find a way to quote at least one person who agrees with the bar owner? he sounds like the ONLY person who doesn't have a problem with the sign. i'd tell this stupid commission to stick it.
