It’s always hard to determine exactly when a very huge, very bad, and very wrong idea dies in the wake of evidence that requires even the most reasonable person to conclude that it is, by and large, idiotic.

I always suspected that with contrary weather conditions throughout the world, those Global Warming scientists were all burnt out.

This month's POPULAR SCIENCE says that no one will be questioning whether or not global warming is occuring-- because "it is." I love the magazine, but its lefty slant is getting hard to take.

Technically, if you believe we had an Ice Age, the world has been warming for over a million years or so.

Well considering that the Polar Ice Cap once extended into Northern Pennsylvania, so we're told, I'd have to agree with you.

When I heard that Mt.St. Helens put more pollutants in the air the day it erupted than man has since his first day, I realized that man cannot destroy what God made. He made it man proof. We can mess up a small area for a short time, but earth was made man proof.

You are thinking of the eruption of Krakatau in 1883. It spewed more pollutants and carbon dioxide than produced by Mankind in our entire industrial history.

Well, it *is* happening. Just like it has been off and on for millions of years. The problem is in how they frame it in the debate.

Right, the question is whether anything that mankind is doing is slowing or accelerating the process.

"You are thinking of the eruption of Krakatau in 1883. It spewed more pollutants and carbon dioxide than produced by Mankind in our entire industrial history."

It also caused a mini ice age, not warming.

What a moronic article. There are sound technical reasons for questioning some of the claims of climate-change bellringers, but this article is untainted by them.

Article synopsis: "Aw, don't listen to those pinkos; it's all a bunch of nonsense! Everything's going to be OK, so there!"

But no matter whether the weather gets hot or gets cold the enviromentalists find a way to blame it on global warming.

I remember my freshman year of college and listening to a parade of speakers come to our campus and warn us that an ice age was coming and there was virtually nothing we could do to stop it. That was replaced by a cavalcade my Sophmore year claiming there was a world wide famine coming, and that was that!. Excuse me if I don't get too worked up over global warming, I'm still trying to calm down from the ice age scare.

***This month's POPULAR SCIENCE says that no one will be questioning whether or not global warming is occuring-- because "it is." I love the magazine, but its lefty slant is getting hard to take.***

Many years ago, back in the early 1970's, POPULAR SCIENCE editors proclaimed that they would never use the term "green house effect" again as it wasn't true.

Then in the 1980"s they bagan to use the term, "global warming.

They lost credibility and I haven't read that rag since.
