Based on reports from Iraq the Model, it would seem that all is going very well. It is a shame that a hurricane from September trumps a historic election in December, but it is to the MSM's shame that that is how they are seeing it.

I agree! I can't find anything on any station and this has been a day that we have all been waiting for....evidently freedom of the press is the only freedom the MSM is concerned about!

We didn't sleep much for the several months that my stepson was in Iraq and Jordan so I know what you mean about holding your breath.
There was just a congressman on FNC talking about how there are 70% fewer suicide bombers this month than previously; he had other uplifting statistics too, so things are improving there.

Those sick f***ers can't stop this democratic revolution. The Iraqi people are too hellbent on voting to permit that. You are so right.
By the way, heres a report that Carl Levin and the rest of the self-absorbed Democrats are not going to like at all!
I came across this earlier on the net .................
Im in the town of Barwana, one of the three Triad cities which include Haqlaniyah and Haditha, deep in Sunni territory. The poll site sits right where Zarqawi had control, where his terrorists executed residents for not conforming to al-Qaedas perverse brand of Islamic law. Its currently 8:20 am Iraqi time, and turnout is heavy so far, with several hundred voters showing up. The polls opened at 7:00 am and the first handful arrived minutes afterward. There is a steady line of voters waiting to vote.
After Carl Levin sees the results of this vote his lovely thirteen-hair combover will be down to about seven long, lonely, and very oily hairs.

Richard Engle MSNBC has just reported, the polls in Iraq have officially closed.
(Chris Matthews topic tonight will be how this successful election might cause new problems for us) No joke, that's the gist of his promos for tonight's show.

Heavy Turnout in the Sunni City
By Bill Roggio
BARWANA, IRAQ: The polls have been open for six hours in the town of Barwana, one of the three Triad cities which include Haqlaniyah and Haditha. The poll site sits right beneath the now-destroyed Barwana bridge, where Zarqawi terrorists routinely executed residents for not conforming to their perverse interpretation of Islam.

I believe it.
The local morning news "featured" the Iraqi elections by sandwiching it between the two stories "Bush admits war based on faulty intelligence" and "American support for war dropping." About 30 seconds devoted to the intel and support stories and - I'm serious - the only thing they said about today's elections was a single sentence: "Explosions were heard in Baghdad today as Iraqis head to the polls for parliamentary elections."
Considering that the Baghdad explosion story was already 7 hours old at the time (I read it before I went to sleep last night) and that's the incident that the MSM chose to focus on it as today's election story, I take it as a sign that election day went really well over there.

Thanks for a real news update...sadly lacking here in the states. Many of us have donned purple fingers in support of Iraqi Freedom. Please let the Iraqis know that we stand in solidarity with them. LET FREEDOM REIGN!
