DETROIT (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co. on Wednesday said it will run advertisements in gay publications, reversing a decision last week to pull all advertising of its Jaguar and Land Rover luxury brands from that sector.
In a letter to some gay, lesbian and human rights groups, Ford said it has decided to run corporate ads for all its eight brands, including its Jaguar and Land Rover luxury brands, in the targeted publications.
"It is my hope that this will remove any ambiguity about Ford's desire to advertise to all important audiences and put this particular issue behind us," Joe Laymon, Ford's group vice president for corporate human resources, wrote in the letter, which was posted on Ford's web site.

Well, it's good and OK. Many of us have a 'do not watch' list as regards hollywood and I for one have a do not buy list as regards Ford. All of these businesses are heading toward major losses of revenue, insolvency, and the like. So, good for you, stick to your guns. We can vote in many ways other than at a polling station. And it DOES have a result. I would rather be a pair of saddam-shoes, than buy a ford. Too bad the list is getting long, but eventually it will get short and the goal is to have no list, yes?

You can't attract a woman with a car that says "homo".
If they are running the ads in those publications because it will help them sell cars, then more power to them and the stockholders. If they are running them simply to pacify the gay community, the stockholders ought to be really pissed off.
There is no way I would be seen dead in a Jag as long as its marketed as the gay car. Who is going to spend $50,000+ on a car that screams "Hey, look at me! I'm a rump ranger!" to everyone they pass? No thanks.
