A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 12.14.05

President Bush delivered the fourth of four speeches on Iraq. Today's speech was given at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in DC. Video of the speech is available at CSPAN. Speaking about this week's elections in Iraq, President Bush told the audience, "We are living through a watershed moment in the story of freedom." Text of today's speech.

Brit Hume, Fox News, interviewed President Bush at length. The interview is being broadcast now, and should be rebroadcast in Brit's "Special Report" on replay tonight.

Addressing the Heritage Foundation, Condi Rice said, "The world has shirked its duty to help prosecute Saddam Hussein. The international community's effective boycott of Saddam's trial is only harming the Iraqi people, who are now working to secure the hope of justice and freedom that Saddam long denied them. ... I am sad to say that the international community has barely done anything to help Iraq prosecute Saddam Hussein."

"We should wait until it's officially, December 15th in Iraq, and declare it GEORGE W. BUSH DAY."

I second that motion!

"Like that Iraqi lady said.............the people who don't appreciate America and President Bush can...........oh, wait a minute. I don't say those words, but I agree with the sentiment..... :)"

LOL - I see Mike took care of it for you!

With the President appearing at 11, 6 and 8 I felt today, the 14th, should be his day. Tomorrow belongs to the Iraqis!!!

My finger is purple and I had a little one ask me about it at Toys R Us. Her grandma thought it was awesome and said they may do it. A couple people asked about it at the Christian book store. Amazing, some don't know the Iraqis are voting! *shaking head*

He probably does not grasp the significance of it LOL. The wardrobe people probably said it would go well with his suit (probably deliberately :0))

Most dress western. Some are Iraqi, and Kurds
and most are Chaldeans (Christian)

When Hussein was captured a large group of them were
in front of the Fed. court bldg. in their native dress
mostly Kurds playing their music and dancing, thanking
the US and signs saying thak you Pres. Bush.
Really great to watch in person.

Where I live, urban means city central and suburban is the area/s around the city -- you have to go through somewhat of a commute to get from the suburbs to the urb. Suburbs tend to have fewer high-density / intensity businesses and are often called bedroom communities because they consist mainly of housing and stores that cater to people in their homes. For example, grocery, Starbucks, hardware, boutiques, theaters, Starbucks, craft stores, Starbucks, car service places, Starbucks, malls, that sort of thing.

I don't know what it is about the Little Drummer Boy song but I also love it. My mother did, too. I have a music box nativity that features a drummer boy among the animals, and plays that song. Perhaps it is the way the song reduces the gospel to its simplest form and message that is so appealing.
