Everyone celebrates religion & holidays in their own individual ways, but currently there are questions abouth whether the two should be more connected. One of the latest places involved in the controversy is a McDonald's restaurant in Raleigh.
The sign at McDonald's on the corner of Falls of Neuse & Spring Forrest Road reads: "Merry Christmas. Jesus is the reason for the season." It is a holiday message that Amanda Alpert thinks comes on a little too strongly.

Nothing to allow, or disallow, it is called free speech and anyone who has a problem should be bodily thrown out of this country.
Whoever wrote this survey question has zero understanding of the Constitution.
Restaurabts, definitely should not display religions messages.
Restaurants, however, should display whatever they wish.
I voted. Out of 5689 votes, 97% voted yes (let restaurants and other businesses put up religious signs). Merry Christmas, all!

Too bad Amanda
Tis' the reason fer the Season! I say...
One woman was offended by the sign...
Has anyone told this "one" woman anything "really" offensive yet???
I volunteer!!!
LOL! Already way out ahead -- 97%.
Agreed - well said!
It offends me because it specifically talks about Jesus, Merry Christmas. It doesn't give credit to anyone else," Alpert said.
Well, DUUUUUH, Amanda!
That's because you can vote as many times as you want.
Why is this even a question? Last I heard, Mickey D's is not a government agency, so there's no question at all. They can put up whatever sign they wish.
This woman has no understanding, apparently, of the Constitution.
Now, she can, if she wishes, march up and down the public sidewalk near this place and picket it as long as she likes. That's the only appropriate response available to her.
Voted.
One has no Constitutional right not to be offended.
These people are beyond words!
Almost every Asian restaurant we go to has a Buddah somewhere with little bowls of stuff around it. People think, oh, good mints or whatever. Not realizing the bowls are also "offerings" to Buddah.
IOW, it's a highly religious message and if they want to speak it and I'm willing to eat at their restaurant, okay.
Personally, I think restaurabts should be banned nationally. The country simply cannot condone the existence of a blatant, public restaurabt.

Thanks for taking part in our survey and using WRAL.com.
Seriously, it's a no-brainer. Anyone bothered by the sign can simply patronize another establishment which does not have such a sign.
LOL! I only voted once.... really!! :)
