The January 2006 issue of Vanity Fair includes the magazine's 2005 Best of the Best -- "Heroes! Winners! Guilty Pleasures!" -- feature. Among those honored are the cast of ABC's "Lost," chosen as "Best Find"; the cast of FX's "Nip/Tuck," chosen as "Best Lift"; and aging rockers Sir Bob Geldof and Bono, chosen as "Best Ambassadors." But the choice that catches the eye -- and the breath -- is in the "Best Stand" category. In a two-page spread, winner Cindy Sheehan is photographed lying full length in the grass at her son Casey's grave at the Vacaville-Elimira Cemetery in Vacaville, California:

The next thing to photograph is when she stands up and is dancing on his grave.
She is sick.

The media need to stop exploiting this woman. She is clearly not in her right mind. The continued coverage of her is an affront to her family and people who care about her. She needs to get help.

At best, the photog used a reflector to shoot some light into Cindy's face so she wouldn't be lost in the shadow. No biggie there. The "glow" is a common propaganda trick. At worst, there was some serious Photoshop work done to kill the shadows and bring her out. Without higher res, can't tell if anything more than that was done.
Anyone live in the neighborhood and want to take the time to match up the location?

Anything is possible with those pinko moonbats. When you actually witness their photo ops. in person, and compare with what the MSM fixes, and promotes...everything is about image, and promotion with that disgusting lunatic.

I think you are right, the photo may have been in the same cemetery but it was probably in a different section. Also she seems to be "cut and pasted" into the scene. Her outline is very sculpted for lack of a better word. Notice how her butt seems to stick up so even though she is laying down and gravity (and 45+years) should be flattening it out? If that is really her natural butt or even a MSM "fake but accurate" butt she would have some serious junk in the trunk.
And those flowers, the shadow goes in the wrong direction!

"If Cindy Sheehan could have her son back alive, but at the cost of her own celebrity status, does anyone really think she would take him back?"
Or that HE would take HER!

Quick! Someone start shoveling dirt over her.

I agree it's not an exact match with regard to when and how the image were taken, but when I compare areas A and B, they just do not look right. For the A's, theres a road and cars at the top right section in the older image that are no where to be even discerned in the Vanity Fair image and for the B's the markers don't seem to match at all. Not that it really matters, I guess....it's just an extra level of sleaze in an already entirely too sleazy situation.

The trouble is, I ~think~ you're 180 degrees off.
Look at the grave directly behind in both photos... the flowers are on the opposite side of the stones... indicating to me that the pictures are looking in opposite directions.

What do you think about the big set of flowers up against the tombstone? One would think that either they would be completely in the shadow or that a shadow of whatever is lighting them so amazingly would be clearly visible behind them. Good point. The photo was taken when the sun was low on the horizon; photographers call it "sweet light." There is definitely more than one, possibly three, fill lighting sources at work here.
Look at Cindy's hair. She has the proper highlighting for the sun's angle, yet her face if filled, as are the flowers. We may have an original photo with a bit of digital enhancement; but that shot can easily be made by someone who knows what they're doing.
When I shoot photos I usually have three flash heads working and a couple of reflectors to boot. You can confine the spread of the supplemental lighting with snoots or doors, resulting in lighting that guides the viewer's eyes through the photo.

My daughter was killed a little over 14 years ago. It still seems like yesterday. I can't imagine anyone behaving like Cindy Al-sheehani. We all grieve differently, but this woman has made a career out of celebrating and profaning her sons honor and sacrifice.
I would not leave the small town were my daughter lies at rest for 10 years after her death, because I would have dreams that she was calling me and looking for me each time I seriously planned to move. I stopped playing piano and flute because the memories of all the duets we had played together were so painful that somehow my fingers just forgot how to find the keys. I wouldn't move her things out of her room for atleat a year. I still have little trinkets and yearbooks and jewelry of hers that I ponder over................
I just don't see how this pond scum has managed to gather such a following outside of codepink, DU and Al-qaida. And Daily (screw 'em)Kos.
Sorry to all good Freepers for being such a downer.
