CINDY SHEEHAN'S GRAVE PHOTO-OP(Words fail me...)
The Corner ^ | Dec 13,2005 | Byron York

The January 2006 issue of Vanity Fair includes the magazine's 2005 Best of the Best -- "Heroes! Winners! Guilty Pleasures!" -- feature. Among those honored are the cast of ABC's "Lost," chosen as "Best Find"; the cast of FX's "Nip/Tuck," chosen as "Best Lift"; and aging rockers Sir Bob Geldof and Bono, chosen as "Best Ambassadors." But the choice that catches the eye -- and the breath -- is in the "Best Stand" category. In a two-page spread, winner Cindy Sheehan is photographed lying full length in the grass at her son Casey's grave at the Vacaville-Elimira Cemetery in Vacaville, California:

I've been known to sit at hubby's grave and have a long talk but at least he has a headstone

Same here. And come to think of it, he got a free headstone from a grateful nation. Don't vets get headstones anymore? Especially if they died in action, I would think. I wouldn't be surprised if she has denied him one deliberately.

The photo is taken in a different direction.

The slope in the two photos match.

Some around here might not agree, but she's got a nice butt.

I just threw up a little in my mouth.

I am going to guess that there is no headstone because she wants one that says something ridiculous on it and Casey's father wants to put down a normal headstone and she is fighting him on it.

Dude, first of all, you've been out to sea way too long. Second, it's been photoshopped.

Headstone's are too narrow for her to stand on.

I saw your post about a 'pro' ... good point. "Professional" lighting, if not done carefully, can produce some of the effects that are often indicative of a photoshop job. That said, I'm still bothered by the shadow from her legs/butt. It just seems too long, to me. Either way, though, it's not the "touching snapshot of a grieving mother" that VF wants us to think it is.

Oh, it's Vanity Fair...what did you expect? I used to love Vanity Fair 10 years ago..it was such fun...I cancelled my subscription about five years ago and told them exactly why...

MamaB.

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's passing. I can not say I know how you feel, however I can imagine how difficult it must be to go on with life as normal- when things are not normal.

Two years is a very long time, when you are in the pain I imagine you to be. i believe the pain of losing a child to be greater than having broken bones. I am sure seeing photos like this hit hard on the heart. I pray you have peace this coming new year.

I am sure it is what your daughter would want for you.

"Mr. President, what did my son die for?"

Did she actually ask him that face to face?

The grass looks too perfect for a recent grave.

According to this website her son died on July 24, 2003.

Yes the Government provides the money for one. My question is, did they family decide to go without one or did Cindy use the money for other purposes?

Wouldn't it be something if she spent her son's headstone money on going after Bush?
