UN Military Officer asks, “Was Srebrenica a Hoax?”

Below we have posted an analysis of what happened in Srebrenica, written by Carlos Martins Branco, a Portuguese military officer who served in Bosnia as a UNMO (UN Military Observers) Deputy Chief Operations Officer in the UNPF (UN Peace Forces) at theatre level. Meaning he knew a whole lot about what was happening on the ground.
Branco argues that the extremist Bosnian Muslim leadership made it easy for Serbian forces to re-take Srebrenica in 1995, setting the stage to sell the world a false massacre story, with the purpose of isolating the Bosnian Serbs, internationally. He argues that it was a big mistake for the Serbs to go in, but it was not an act of genocide. That, he says, is a fabrication, and he adds that he debriefed UN Military Observers who were involved, and has read UN reports that were never shown to the public.
A few points.

I'm surprised that Emperor's Clothes articles have not been banned from FR.

I guess you didn't get the memo, kronos.
Srebrenica is no longer deniable.
Attempting to do so merely makes one look stupid.

Er...
The author of that article states at the onset:
"I don't want to discuss numbers and similar matters. Those subjects do not interest me at all. There is not reliable information, and figures have been used and manipulated for propaganda purposes which are not oriented to a serious understanding of the Yugoslavian conflict"
It's a wee bit hard to talk about whether or not a genocidal incident is a hoax without discussing numbers and graphical evidence. But being as how I was mildly amused by this, I kept reading.
"The mass graves are filled by a limited number of corpses from both sides..."
I thought he wasn't interested in talking about numbers.
The evidence this author discusses is circumstantial and open to quite a bit of interpretation. He cannot refute the graves filled not only with men of fighting age, but also women and children.
I'm not impressed, much less swayed.

Srebrenica is no longer deniable. Color me stupid, but when I saw that same picture of an ematiated guy behide a chicken wire fence over and over again with CNN voiceovers drawing parallels to the Nazi camps, I just said to myself, "I'm being lied to." After that I noticed lots of other faked pictures. We see the same thing coming out of places like Jenin and Gaza.
Something "ugly" may or may not have happpened in Srebenica, but many here at FR wouldn't mind if things were a bit uglier in Jenin. War and Genocide are not the same thing.

of course Srebrenica was a hoax. Are there still albanians in kosovo? If so then no genocide happened.
And even if genocide did happen, well people die in wartime. No big deal

"Sarajevo, meanwhile, "never seemed very interested in the fate of
Srebrenica," says Radio Netherlands editor James Kliphuis, "except to list it as [a] supreme example of the outside world's lack of interest in what happened to the Bosnian Muslims." A statement entered into testimony at the ICTY in Feb. 2004, by UN Commander in Bosnia from 1992 to 1993 Philippe Morillon, read: "The aim of the [Bosnian] presidency from the very outset was to ensure the intervention of the international forces for their own benefit, and this is one of the reasons why they never were inclined to engage in talks."

of course Srebrenica was a hoax. Are there still albanians in kosovo? If so then no genocide happened.Srebrenica isn't anywhere near Kosovo, you idiot. That's like saying, "Are there still Armenians in Jerusalem? Well I guess the Rape of Nanking is a hoax."

I'm not taking sides here, but you missed his point completely. Calling him an idiot when you fail to understand his post doesn't look all that good for you. Maybe we should debate more nicely, eh?

Ok, as for the "merits" of the claim that if there are any survivors at all then genocide didn't occur, by his rule, the extermination of the Jews wasn't genocide. You see, the Nazis missed a few. Do you agree with that position?
But for the record, this is all moot, because we aren't talking about Kosovars in Kosovo, we're talking about Bosniaks in Bosnia.

Something "ugly" may or may not have happpened in Srebenica, It certainly did. The murder of 7,000 people solely on account of their ethnicity. That's not "war." And that sure as hell isn't Jenin.

My SATs have about as much to do with Srebrenica as Living Marxism's campaign to discredit ITN's report of goings on at Trnopolje.
Seeing as you're completely oblivious, I'll clue you in - Living Marxism got taken to court, and the two jokers behind the story recanted their lies - they were just talking smack and admitted as much.
But the damage was done, as evidenced by bright little things such as yourself who still put credence in and unwittingly spread their BS.
So congratulations - you're a sucker. A useful idiot (sorry - but it is Living Marxism we're talking about here, whether you realize it or not) who's still paying lip service to one completely discredited lie in order to defend yet another completely discredited lie - the Serbian version of Srebrenica.

But they do have something to do with your argument, which was to imply that I am stupid rather than address the point I made. I assure you I am not stupid. Sometimes I could be misinformed or use faulty logic, but it's not likely.
