Gov. Shwarzeneggar expected to make announcement on Tookie Williams Execution Clemency shortly according to Fox News.
"I thought thats all athiests did was to decide to be their own God?"
Well, now. That's original. Atheists (not athiests) do not believe in the existence of ANY supernatural entities such as deities. We do not believe ourselves to be deities. If we did, we wouldn't expect to die after our short lifespans.
100 replies and still no announcement? Shall we start a thread for the end of the world?
I think that Pete Wilson did it personally every time on live TV.
For what it's worth, I don't think he'll grant clemency.
I think he'll ask for restraint and calm.
if he decides the man is goin to the needle, anyone want to take any bets on how long it will take the first riot to occur?? after all, the media has already set the stage..
Then put him in a dark hole and just send in food.
He doesn't get points for good behavior behind bars either.
Could be, at least we will know soon...finally.
Fox News is reporting they were given a heads up that Arnold would announce his decision shortly. They have not specified whether it will be live, a spokesman or a press release --- just the typical Fox Box - Tookie Williams Clemency Announcement Shortly.
....Well, that's real Catholic of ya! Gezeeee!
I would imagine the Crips and the Bloods will riot either way Arnold goes.
Not sure about that. You may be right.
I too think the governator will cave.
Pretty arrogant to say there is no God. You must know all there is to know to be able to say that. I think it would be better to say you don't believe there is a god or don't know if there is a God.

Some bishops do some don't. The Vatican has no position on immigration.
"Really? How about our soldiers? Are they allowed to decide when a terrorist should die?
"
That's at least encouraging.
"It should be hard for our government to put a man to death."
No it shouldn't. The gov't doesnt order people to death, the people do. It is the people's interest that maked the death penalty legal. It is a jury that requests the death penalty.
It should be hard for the government to overturn the people's wishes, not the other way around.
Actually, the position of the Holy Church is often misrepresented.
While it IS true that the Church currently discourages the death penalty in favor of incarceration/rehabilitation, It stops short of endorsing an absolute ban.
"I see the need to use lethal force in self defense and war, but he is in a cage. Let him rot there."
and
I see a need for cutting expenses where they can, which this does number one, but the stronger message that the death penalty has in our country is as a deterent in the first place.
