Liberal is not a bad word. Conservatives don't use it as a bad word, we use it as a word to accurately describe people on the left.
It has a meaning about big government and social order that I believe is accurate.
It is those who subscribe to liberal "theology" that treat it as a bad word, because they recognise that a majority of americans don't LIKE that particular "theology".
I've never used liberal as a "prejorative" in the sense that you were a bad person if you were a liberal. I do frequently say that liberals are wrong, and that the liberal mindset is bad for the country, and fails to address or provide solutions for the problems we face.
Hmm, a self-answering question: history has shown us that Vietnam was right, and, with the opening of the KGB archives, that McCarthy was, too.
To some degree, I agree with him. Let the MSM start to call liberals, well, liberals. We leave it to the people whether it's 'bad' or 'good' word.

In American politics, "liberal" is synonymous with "communist/socialist" and "progressive." Of course, so is "liar," "hypocrite," and "morally deficient."

The Democrats held the blacks in slavery; the Republicans freed them.
The Democrats held the black people in segregation; the Republicans freed them.
The Democrats hold the blacks in today's ghettos; Republicans work to set them free.
Clooney again? Didn't he recently say (or imply) that he would be keeping a low profile about politics, or is that just wishful thinking on my part?
If one single Liberal would lose the emotional, self-induced hysteria they attach to EVERY issue, if one single Liberal would possess him/herself of the facts before shooting off his/her mouth, if one single Liberal would EVER disassociate him/herself from lame socialist dogma, if one single Liberal would EVER, EVEN ONCE demonstrate any respect for ALL Americans and not just pander to the half educated/ill educated crowd of free loaders they call their voter base... then maybe Liberal would not be a 'bad word'.
