Freeper
Right-wing political activist. So-called, because it is the nickname of the denizens of the ultra-right wing Web site FreeRepublic.com. Similar to "ditto-head."

Yes, but our votes on the correct definition will put it in first place.

What do you expect of these search engines that have let the Communist Chinese Government enforce censorship on their communications?
Have no doubt about Google's political bias.

That site is tremendous waste of bandwidth. The definitions of Republican are equally absurd. The site look like one that is frequently "freeped" by college sociology students mimicking their brain-damaged instructors.
To: md2576
A member of the Free Republic internet forum. The term applies to both activist and non activist members. The term was originally coined by Lucianne Goldberg in 1998 when she posted there under the posting name, "Trixie".
This is correct.

Also note the definition of "DUer" -
A fanatical member of the left-wing message board known as the Democratic Underground. Usually (though not necessarily) a loyal backer of the ideas and philosophies behind the candidacies of Dennis Kucinich, Howard Dean, or Wesley Clark, DUers typically focus their energies whining on the Internet about the war in Iraq or about the erosion of civil rights created by the Bush administration. They are all united in backing John Kerry, since Nader backers are usually purged, and although many would rather see Kucinich/Dean/Clark in Kerry's position right now, they are united in their antipathy against the Republican Party in general and George W. Bush in particular.
Not bad.

You should have put the definition here.
Everytime that site is hit, it posts to Google and continues to be the most popular definition.
Find a good site, tell us which it is and let us FReep that one. If we all hit a good one, it will go to the top. That's how Google works.
Basically by asking all of us to go there, you kept it BTTT.

Yes, but you can vote up or down on the definitions. The correct definition can be voted to the top.

Also, Only clicks that are on Googles site are counted. Clicking on my link doesn't transmit to Google. Google will only know that I placed a link here and that is what Google tracks. How many links not clicks from external sites.

That's actually not how it really works. Placing the actual link here MIGHT help the site, but I would say any google ranking help from a link on a FR post would be negligible at best.
Google doesn't take in to account the traffic that goes to the site, so people clicking on the link will have no affect on it's ranking.
To: netmilsmom
Just click on the ones that are from FreeRepublic.com. Also, the
Wikipedia entry for Free Republic is very objective and has a complete report on the Rathergate/Buckhead connection.

Have no doubt about Google's political bias.
Al Gore announced the first national network created by, for and with an 18-34 year-old audience. Its mission is to serve as a TV platform where the voices of young adults can be heard. The network will invite audiences to move beyond their roles as viewers to become active collaborators. Its programming will consist of 15-second to five-minute segments relating to pressing issues such as the environment, relationships, spirituality, finance, politics and parenting. Production facilities will be located in San Francisco.
Google's co-founder and president of Technology, Sergey Brin, said, "We're pleased to collaborate with the entire Current team." The new network has even adopted Google's "Current" monicker.
Among those most intimately involved with the project are a veritable who's who of super-connected Democratic donors and operatives, from INdTV's board of directors on down. Besides Gore and Hyatt, those directors include San Francisco investment banker Richard Blum, the husband of U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein; Ron Burkle, the billionaire Los Angeles investment banker and Democratic megadonor; and Ed Renwick, a partner in Burkle's investment firm. (That firm, Yucaipa Companies, claims former President Bill Clinton and the Rev. Jesse Jackson among its directors.)
Some of INdTV's individual investors appear to have been scooped from the Gore 2000 all-star donor team. There's Indiana shopping mall magnate Melvin Simon and his wife, Brenda. Beyond each giving the $1,000 legal maximum to Gore for his White House bid, the couple shelled out $2 million in so-called "soft money" to the Democratic National Committee between 2000 and 2002, federal campaign records show. There's Albert Dwoskin, a commercial real estate developer from suburban Washington, D.C., and another longtime Gore backer, who gave the DNC $370,000 between 1999 and 2002. And there's Warren Lieberfarb of Los Angeles, the former head of Time Warner Video and a Friend of Al. He has tossed at least $87,000 to the Democrats since 1997.
Ownership percentages of INdTV have not been disclosed. An SEC filing lists Gore, Hyatt, and trusts set up for Hyatt's sons, Jared, 20, and Zachary, 17, as "beneficial owners," indicating that they are substantial stakeholders in the venture. But it is INdTV's other two significant owners, the private equity funds Yucaipa Corporate Initiatives and Blum Strategic Partners, with their connections to CalPERS, the nation's largest pension fund, that are likely to raise eyebrows among those suspicious of the venture as a liberal antidote to right-wing media. Critics have accused CalPERS powerful 13-member board, which is dominated by organized labor and the state Democratic Party apparatus, of engaging in political cronyism that mocks the good governance principles CalPERS ostensibly promotes.
Don't expect anything remotely "fair and balanced" from this bunch. I must also wonder if I will be able to find any conservative websites or news in my future Google searches since Google has so tightly vested itself in the success of this network. Certainly Google can no longer be seen as an independent entity, too bad.
