John Spencer hasn't a chance.

Pirro did, but the dog-in-manger/ holier than thouers Conservatives and the damned Dem MSM did her in.

If she quits, this will be yet another case of the ultra GOPers getting what they all yearn so for........DEFEAT, when victory was at hand.

correct.

too bad Pataki cannot be convinced to run. he could make a race out of it, perhaps winning it.

Give it a rest, Chester. Just a little fact check, no Democrat Senator from NY has EVER been defeated since we went to the popular vote 90 years ago.

and what gets me is, the "litmus test" crowd chooses NY to make a stand - a state where demographics makes it almost impossible for them to win under ANY circumstances. this is the place where we should "stand and fight" for a real conservative? what for, so we can lose by 40 pts with dignity?

Schwarzenegger and Arlen tought some important lessons for conservatives across the country. These RINOs will stab you in the back, and that's a guarantee. Not only that, these GOP'ers undermine the credibility of other conservative candidates, on the basis of "guilty by association."

Also, weren't you one of those pro-Harriet freepers?

I must say, the epithet "ultra" makes you come across as a Leftie. You betray your prejudice.

I never said I wanted Spencer to win. I never belived ANY Conservative can win in New York. Hurting Hillary in this Senate bid will hurt her drastically in the 08 bid. And killing her 08 chances is something that could save America from a socialist President.

It's called tactics. I am willing to sacrifice a Senate seat (not really, she'd win anyway) for a Presidency.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, if ONLY we ran the RINO candidate with the criminal husband who's trailing Hillary by 30 points, she would have magically "BEAT HILLARY" cuz ummm... you say so.

You know what? Why don't we just give you guys what you want and run a couple of your "electable" RINO heros in races no one cares about next year. Let's run RINO Rosario Marin or Dick Riordan for U.S. Senator from CA next year. Let's run RINO Jane Swift for U.S. Senator from Mass. next year. How about RINO Olympia Snowe for Governor of Maine? (her twin Susan Collins came in THIRD place when the GOP nominated her for Governor, BTW). Run RINO Mark Kirk for any statewide office in Illinois, like Comptroller. Run RINO Gary Menduzo for any statewide office in California. Run the RINO Governor of Hawaii for the state's Senate or Congressional seat. Run one of the abortion-luvin' RINOs in N.H. for New Hampshire Governor. I'd suggest running RINO Connie Morella for U.S. Senate in Maryland but no way is Stelle going to step aside in the primary for an socialist loser. How about RINO Chris Shays against Lieberman in Conn.? Or any of their other RINO Congressmen for statewide office? And even RINO Linc Chaffee can get the hell out of the Senate race and run for Lt. Governor of Rhode Island. That's an open seat, surely the little weasel and his ultra-high disapproval rating will "win" the seat, right?

All of those above mentioned liberals have been touted as "electable" by the RINO apologists here. So let's run them all in a few races, and see how they fare. Put up or shut up. I'd bet real money that they'd ALL lose.

Series delusions in that head of yours if you dream that your pro-abortion liberal hero had a shot in heck at beating your other pro-abortion liberal hero.

Are you kidding? Pirro would not even have gotten 40% against Hillary. I mean, Giuliani could beat Hillary, and Pataki (who would get the Conservative Party line as well, since he is pro-choice on abortion but not an extremist on social issues) could make the race very competitive, but Pirro would have had NO CHANCE, and she knows it (why else would she drop out?). I wish Pirro luck in the AG race if she switches to that race, and she might actually win that race (I hope so, anyhow), but she just doesn't have what it takes to run against Hillary.

My dream ticket in NY would be Giuliani for Governor and Pataki for the Senate. Unless those two gentlemen run, we can't beat Spitzer and Hillary. So, if we are going to lose anyhow, we might as well nominate candidates who will be standardbearers for the GOP's principles and who may help convince inner-city voters that the Democrat Party has abandoned them on moral and cultural issues. So, unless better candidates come forward, I will support Randy Daniels for Governor and John Spencer for the Senate.
