Freeper website help ?

I have a blog that gets quite a few hits.

I would love to find out exactly how many, but the hit counters I have found I dont trust.

Most seem to use a hosting service that I have questions about.

Does anyone have and know how to insert a web hit counter that is safe and effective?

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

I use Webstat and Webtrends on mine. Both work well, Webstat is very inexpensive.

I've been using GOSTATS.COM on my personal web site, JEFFHEAD.COM, and on many other of my web sites for some time. They have worked well for me over the years.

If you are hosting on Apache, you can use Webalizer. It's free.

BTW, many of the web sites I have designed use Webalizer. It gives a nice detailed graphical breakdown of the hits, visits, referers, entry pages, exit pages, etc..

The basic hit counter from addme is free.

You can edit the html to make it invisible and it's a perfectly serviceable hit counter that gives you hourly and monthly stats.

I use it on a dozen pages

You are running Apache. I'm not sure how easy it will be to set up webalizer on your site. Do you have FTP access?

Blogspot isn't going to let him do that - it's gotta be something external to the server.

I found that GoStats suggested earlier by Jeff Head and it seems to work quite well.

Frankly, I am stunned to find I have as of this moment received 239 hits SINCE I INSTALLED IT.

I mean dang, I knew I was semi popular but geez louise !
