SENATOR CALLS ON BUSH TO TAKE DOWN ATTACK AD Sat Dec 10 2005 16:41:38 ET
Today, Senator Daniel Inouye, the Ranking Member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, released the following statement:
"As a Veteran of World War II, I know what its like to fight a war and put your life on the line every day. I also know what it takes to win a war, and I know that politics and an attack machine like the Presidents plays no part in it.
"The Republican Partys latest ad is a shameful and disgusting attempt to distract the American people from the problems in Iraq. It may improve the Presidents political fortunes, but the American people and our troops will pay the price. I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to play politics when what we really need is leadership, and that he will direct his Party to take down this ad immediately."

Another Democrat sees red at the mention of white.
With all due respects to the Congressional Medal of Honor winner ... He is obviously in deep pain and needs some meds.

From Drudge -"A Democratic strategist who had the web ad described to her said, This is way over the top but we have no one to blame but Dean, Kerry and others who continue to pander to the anti-war activists within our party.

I admire Inouye, but in this case he's wrong. His party (although it might not include him or Joe Leiberman) has become the party "cut & run" and the ad depicts that! It's about time we started fighting fire with fire!

If the democrats think they can hide behind Inoway's medals, they are wrong.

Senator Daniel Inouye earned his MOH on the battlefield as I recall, he wasn't one of the many upgrades to MOH that Clinton handed out to lock up support from that constituency back during one of the election cycles.

Two can play the this game. I don't think Bush appreciated all the "liar" stuff from them.

A hit dog howls. Keep running the ad, while making a new one with a French connection between the yellow Dems and other softy leftists in Europe.

Another Democrat who is willing to pour his honor and integrity down the drain to put party of country.

The Senator is no longer honorable. He is a cheese eating surrender monkey.

This could be solved very easily. Have a leading Democrat come out and tell Kerry, Dean and Pelosi to apologize. In return, the ad is taken down.

Shameful!!??It's shameful when Republicans play "politics" at the detriment of the Democratic Party but it's okay for the Dums to play politics with the war AT THE DETRIMENT OF THE NATION AND OUR TROOPS ON THE FRONTLINE!!
Take you Medal of Honor, Senator, and put it away. . You and your party STINK TO HIGH HEAVEN!

Right on the mark. It is treason and they should be deported or jailed.

I have been begging the RNC for months to go on the attack and drive a wedge through the Democratic Party.
They should run this ad in primarily Democratic states where Kerry won in '04.
Half the Democrats (the vocal half) will hate the Republicans more than they do now (but they aren't going to vote for the Rs in this century) and the other half (the quiet ones who pay attention to politics only when it irritates them) will pay very close attention to what their Congressman and Senator are saying about the war.
Politics is a zero sum game. In order for us to win they have to lose. Just like war... :-)
