Big shocker that his is going on because the Saudis have been funding mosques with whahabi clerics and madrass schools in Bosnia.

Thx for the ping, FD. I thought the following sounded strangely familiar...
The paper quoted former UN representative in Bosnia, Jacques Klein, as having confirmed to the Security Council that Islamic terrorists were active in Bosnia, but added that it was good they were concentrated in one place, because 'the rest of the world would be safe'."

"Goebbels is the one who coined the phrase "If you tell a lie enough times, it becomes accepted as truth, and, the bigger the lie, the more likely it is to be accepted"
An observation that American politicians of every stripe have taken to heart with gusto. Time to mourn.

Clinton bombed Serbia (the Christians) on behalf of the KLA (Ben Lauden and the Muslims).
The thank you from the Muslims was 911.

Mark, this is what I was talking about. I can say, case in point; reference our current conversation on "Bosnia Croat Killer Goes to Jail".

Bosnia became a launching pad as far back as 1992 when the Bosnian Muslim government of Alija Izetbegovic
supported by the Clinton administration Uh, Stella, better tighten up the talking points; Clinton wasnt president in 1992.
[Bosnia] issued a passport to Osama bin Laden which he used to visit Bosnia and Kosovo on several occasions.
Nope. There is zero evidence that bin Laden ever visited Kosovo or Bosnia. And the bin Laden Bosnian passport story, much beloved of Serbs trying to gain exculpation for their murderous ethnic cleansing campaigns by associating them with our war on terror, is tenuous at best. It comes from the Bosnian weekly Danis story in 1999 that the Bosnian Embassy in Vienna MAY have issued a passport to bin Laden in 1993. Follow the link and you will see that the bin Laden Bosnian passport story is based on anonymous sources and destroyed documents, the sources themselves are unclear as to whether it was even issued, and that in any event, the officials at the embassy in 1993 would not even have known who bin Laden was. Even this guys stories were more convincing.

Therefore, it is safe to say Bosnia is the birthplace of Al-QaedaRidiculous. Al qaeda was conceived in the Arab Middle East and born in Afghanistan. And without the Serb ethnic cleansing campaigns against the Bosnians in the early 90s, it is doubtful that any al qaeda would ever have found their way to the Balkans.
To: tgambill
Tom, so far we have had good cooperation with the Bosnian government on interdicting terrorists in Bosnia and preventing attacks. Hopefully we will ocntinue to have successes as outlined in Stella's article above. Stella's pro-Serb agenda causes her to embellish her columns with some pretty goofy stuff (as covered in the posts immediately above), but the base idea that we need to pay attention to the Balkans in order to prevent al Qaeda setting up base there is valid.
The Bush Admiinistration policy to that end is to ensure regional stabilty by preventing a recurrence of the 1990s wars, establish a stronger central governemnt in Bosnia that can better direct internal security, catalyze the Kosovo status talks to end the uncertainty & potential for further instability, build up local police structures, and provide an ongoing--albeit much smaller--military & securtiy presence while encouraging the Europeans to shoulder more of the load.
As long as the extremist nationlists from any of the sides stay marginalized, that strategy will work.
To: mark502inf
mark, history of islamic encroachment in the balkans (bosnia, serbian krajina and serbia) is rife with examples. The underbelly of Europe has endured the scourge of islamic filth thanks in part due to Serbian resistance. That resistance must be met dealt with harshly or the heathens that pray to allah win out.
those islamic victories remain seared into the Serbs and to minimal extent, the Croatians psyche. Neither wish to remain under the islamic yoke.
AQ was not hatched in Bosnia like that poster claims. Nonetheless, AQ would have been in the region regardless. You know it too so don't even deny it. Kinda like there were no US military hostility casualties either, ehh?
