Confessions Of A ZOTTED Troll
FR Post #69 ^ | Now | Me

Edited on 12/11/2005 1:54:41 AM PST by Admin Moderator. [history]

I discovered this site while Googling to research a statement I heard on a radio talk show that Cindy Sheehan had said "America is not worth dying for". The quote is an easily verifiable falsehood- which only serves as a backdrop for my comments here.

I discovered a thread on this site, based on the above Sheehan quote, that was filled with vitriol towards her. One person, however, pointed out (rather mildly) that there was some question as to the veracity of the quote, and she was labeled as a "Troll". Not being terribly familiar with forums I can only assume that the term refers to someone who doesn't really belong here, and is kind of sneaking around trying to deposit heresy. Since this site seems to be dedicated to extreme right-wing ideology and I am not an extreme right-wing ideologue, I guess I must be a troll. Therefore I'll spread my heresy and move on.

Is the only purpose of these forums for you all to pat each other on the backs for agreeing with each other? Is dissent so distasteful to you that it can only be met with insult? If so, I pity you.

Transcript of Sheehan Speech at a Pro-Stewart Rally held April 27, 2005 at San Francisco State University.

Sheehan Transcript

"Cindy Sheehan (Military Families Speak Out; Goldstar Families for Peace; her son Casey was killed in the Iraq War)

First, I want to give my little story about Lynne. Of course, you all have read To Kill a Mockingbird. Lynne is my human Atticus Finch. He did what he knew was right, but wasn’t popular. And that’s what Lynne is doing. {applause} We are not waging a war on terror in this country. We’re waging a war of terror. The biggest terrorist in the world is George W. Bush. {applause}

How many more people are we going to let him kill before we stop him? I’m going to talk about free speech and recruitment. Do you know that it costs $66,000 to recruit one recruit? That’s continuing all of their – you know, the recruiter’s salary, the recruiter’s bonus, the place that they rent to recruit and things like that. All the perks they get and everything. That’s not even training the recruit. It costs our government about $6,000 a year on each child in California. $46,000 a year to house a prisoner in our state. Our priorities are seriously screwed up, as I mentioned.

I really want to thank you guys for doing this, especially the young people. It gives me so much hope to know that there’s young people who care more about who’s our next American Idol – less about that. You guys care more about people being killed. There’s too many that care more about the next American Idol. Too many people in our country that don’t even really know we have a war going on. You know, they never have to think of the war, and I’ll never, ever forget this war. I can never forget it, even when I’m sleeping {tears} I know that we’re in a war and I know that George Bush and his band of neo-cons and their neo-con agenda killed my son. And I’ll never, ever, ever forget.

I take responsibility partly for my son’s death, too. I was raised in a country by a public school system that taught us that America was good, that America was just. America has been killing people, like my sister over here says, since we first stepped on this continent, we have been responsible for death and destruction. I passed on that bullshit to my son and my son enlisted. I’m going all over the country telling moms: “This country is not worth dying for. If we’re attacked, we would all go out. We’d all take whatever we had. I’d take my rolling pin and I’d beat the attackers over the head with it. But we were not attacked by Iraq. {applause} We might not even have been attacked by Osama bin Laden if {applause}. 9/11 was their Pearl Harbor to get their neo-con agenda through and, if I would have known that before my son was killed, I would have taken him to Canada. I would never have let him go and try and defend this morally repugnant system we have. The people are good, the system is morally repugnant. {applause}

Please – teach your babies, teach your babies better than I taught my babies. When Congress gave George Bush the right to go to war, they abrogated their constitutional responsibilities and they basically made our constitution null and void. We have no checks and balances in this country. We have no recourse. If they’re going to what they did to Lynne, they don’t have backs they call names, what we need to be is, we the people, we’re their checks and balances. We’re the only checks and balances. We have to stand up and say, Not only is this our school, this is our country. We want our country back and, if we have to impeach everybody from George Bush down to the person who picks up dog shit in Washington, we will impeach all those people. Our country needs to {unintelligible} we need to start over again.

I just want to say that you students, Students Against War, you have all my support and all my organization’s support. I told Kristen if you have any actions and you need a ringleader, that I only live about an hour away. I’ll be here. If I can sleep on somebody’s floor, we can have this, we can camp out, do whatever we need.

And I just want to way to George Bush and I want to say to the people who are here, that are still sheep {unintelligible} and following him blindly: if George Bush believes his rhetoric and his bullshit, that this is a war for freedom and democracy, that he is spreading freedom and democracy, does he think every person he kills makes Iraq more free? It doesn’t make us more free. It damages our humanity. The whole world is damaged. Our humanity is damaged. If he thinks that it’s so important for Iraq to have a U.S.-imposed sense of freedom and democracy, then he needs to sign up his two little party-animal girls. They need to go this war. They need to fight because a just war, the definition of a just war, and maybe you people here who still think this is a just war, the definition of a just war is one that you would send your own children to die in. That you would go die in yourself. And you aren’t willing to send your own children, or if you’re not willing to go die yourself, then you bring there rest of our kids home now. It is despicable what they’re doing. {applause}

What they’re saying, too, is like, it’s okay for Israel to have nuclear weapons. But Iran or Syria better not get nuclear weapons. It’s okay for the United States to have nuclear weapons. It’s okay for the countries that we say it’s okay for. We are waging a nuclear war in Iraq right now. That country is contaminated. It will be contaminated for practically eternity now. It’s okay for them to have them, but Iran or Syria can’t have them. It’s okay for Israel to occupy Palestine, but it’s – yeah – and it’s okay for Iraq to occupy – I mean, for the United States to occupy Iraq, but it’s not okay for Syria to be in Lebanon. They’re a bunch of fucking hypocrites! And we need to, we just need to rise up. We need a revolution and make it be peaceful and make it be loving and let’s just show them all the love we have for humanity because we want to stop the inhumane slaughter.

{wild applause}"

If I had to guess, I would say it was some prank someone pulled on a Nigerian scammer. There was a website devoted to getting them to do stupid things on the promise of sending them money.

A reverse-scam, if you will.

Hey Jim,

The lying troll didn't last long enough for me to post Cindy Sheehan's words in transcript, as follows:

I take responsibility partly for my son’s death, too. I was raised in a country by a public school system that taught us that America was good, that America was just. America has been killing people, like my sister over here says, since we first stepped on this continent, we have been responsible for death and destruction. I passed on that bullshit to my son and my son enlisted. I’m going all over the country telling moms: “This country is not worth dying for."

Found here:Discover the Networks .org

Look about halfway down under Sheehan's speech.

I am going to be honest.

Cindy Sheehan does not hide her views.

She is pretty straight forward.

I'll give her credit in that she says what she says in front of cameras and has even e-mailed folks.

That said, now I can't blame her, since eveyone else is playing games and pretending she said something different or meant something different.

I also remember (something the MSM refuses to even talk about) that she is REFUSING to renounce David Duke or any of his co-horts and she will not renounce any neo-nazis.

The media protects her far bettter then she protects herself.

Go down and meet her, You may not like what she says.

Then again, you may like her views about jews, Israel, and......other people.

"Cindy Sheehan had said "America is not worth dying for". The quote is an easily verifiable falsehood- which only serves as a backdrop for my comments here."

You've got the quote yourself.

Begin sentence: "America is not worth dying for." End sentence.

How is a direct quote an easily-verifiable falsehood?

You people might get some intelligent debate if you didn't make such silly statements.

She really did say that, its in the transcripts I've seen.

As for the NAZI's... its no surprise.

If the Neo-Nazi's and KKK were actually conservative like the media likes to portray they would have them on every election to publicly endorse the GOP... but guess why they don't have them on??

KKK- "Made by the Democrats, led by the Democrats and always will be Democrats".... Neo-Nazi's are SOCIALISTS....

Just something else the media will not be honest about.

Since this site seems to be dedicated to extreme right-wing ideology... Is dissent so distasteful to you that it can only be met with insult? If so, I pity you.***************************** Let me get this straight, you start off your post calling those on this board a bunch of extremist and then you complain about people on this board insulting you. Even a leftist should appreciate that irony. Oh and I'm still waiting for you to respond to the posting of the transcript in which Cindy did in fact say that America is not a country worth dying for. If you're going to come on this board and hurl insults at least get your facts straight. If you read FR very long, you will notice that facts do get checked, it doesn't matter if the post is coming from the right or the left. But if you're more comfortable throwing out false statements that bash those that don't agree with you and you don't want anyone to call you on it. You may want to check out the Democratic Underground.

I'm not quite sure. I *think* I googled "not bright" and that was what came up, but I wouldn't testify to it.

For someone with the name "truthseeker8459", you seem to have already made up your mind that we do not tolerate dissent.

That cannot be further from the truth. This forum is dedicated to the indepth discussion of news stories and to seek out opinions from those of all life-experiences.

This forum has demonstrated the differences in opinions among those who constitute the "right-wing". For example, we debated the Harriet Miers nomination hotly on this site with some supporting her and some opposing her.

We have praised President Bush on this forum and we have attacked President Bush on this forum.

What you have totally missed is that we do not engage in the group-think you will find on leftist websites.

This site will never excuse a President for having sex with an intern in the White House, regardless of party or ideology.

On second thought, I guess I concede that Cindykins was possibly talking about Iraq when she said "This country". It's a little confusing, though, because it is followed by her rolling pin comment--she doesn't say she'd fight to the death.

But really, someone who says "We might not even have been attacked by Osama bin Laden" doesn't sound like someone who thinks this country is worth dying for to me.

Another observation: Cindy sure uses the term "BS" a lot, like a kid who swears and sees the reaction adults have, so he does it again and again to get a rise out of them.

OK, on third thought ;), I realize my second thought was incorrect, due to her sucky rhetorical skills. She meant "This country" (the U.S.) in that ridiculous way the dems claim when they say they mean "this administration". She means this country as it is now, and how we have to impeach Bush and etc. etc.

Our troll must admit that I have given this thought and have examined it from his POV, and it's now clear to me--and it should be to him--that Cindy indeed said "This country" and meant the US.
