"LBJ was able to reverse course and begin the drawdown of troops from Vietnam."

Some BS from the article. When Nixon took office, the highest number of soldiers were in Vietnam. Nixon began the drawdown in June 1969 (25,000).

You are right. It's disgusting. MSM at its worst, again...

Ha! Wait until you see how they try to promote Hillary in the runup to 2008's election.

Thanks for the reminder. . .

Wish Benedict's name would come up more often. . .to 'balance' the sacred ground option. . .where only Demrats stand when it comes to their own service in the Military - or the 'service' of 'one of their own'. . .

. . .Repubs dare not 'go there'. . .'walk there'. . .

all while the Demrats collectively, insult; lie; dishonor/smear. . .attempt to humiliate so as to weaken a Commander-in-Chief and his/our Military. . .and to weaken and diminish America's position and significance during our engagement in a 'world war'. . .

. . .and the same treatment is offered/given by these 'swamp-grass' Demrats. . .to ANY Repub. . .whose Military service, interferes with their political message.

If I were Bush I wouldn't call Mutha either

The best I can say for Murtha is that he appears to patronize the same restaurants as Ted Kennedy......

They could share each other's wardrobe!

Worth repeating

Newsweak and Evan Thomas don't have a clue. When they refer to Murtha as an ex-Marine they unknowingly slander him.For a Marine it is the worst humiliation. For a Marine,it's "Once a Marine, Always a Marine". They have, in their ignorance, called Murtha what he truly is.

----------------------

(They tried to escape the truth of the matter)

.

'It' happens. . .

That cover is a disgrace. There are, I'm sure, still some dentist offices and barber shops that have that magazine in the racks, and I hope the customers say something.

Newsweak is full of scummy people. I hope they move out of NY. With luck they can all move to SF or someplace far away. NY has enough flies.

Murtha should stick his tir in his blouse, so that every US Marine that sees him, knows him for what he is.

Amy Carter who advised her father on foreign affairs is still available. Why hasn't the White House called her? Someone (maybe at Newsweek) should investigate this.

It's getting to the point where I won't drive somewhere unless I can arrive by taking all right turns.

What is he "highly decorated" for? With what?

According to his web site at  house.gov

"He remained in the Reserves after his discharge from active duty until he volunteered for Vietnam in 1966-67, receiving the Bronze Star with Combat "V", two Purple Hearts and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry."

Thanks. . .and interesting

. . .does it say what he did to earn these medals of merit? (I can check; but perhaps you know. . .and could share. . .)

That said. . .I would offer that Murtha is making choices now; that are not in any way comprable in value or heroics; on the contrary; they are precisely opposite.

Newsweak is nothing but propaganda. Filthy garbage. Its been nothing but 5 straight years of attacks on Bush. Bush needs to come out Monday with yet another speech or campaign.
