After all I seen the Salvation Army do for Louisiana and Mississippi after these past hurricanes, they need the help. Shame on these corporations.

The companies that ban the Salvation Army should understand
that we're making a list and checking it twice, and those names on that list will be boycotted by many.....

Over the past few years, Target, Barnes and Noble, Home Depot and Toys R Us have removed bell ringers from their property.

And I have removed my business from their stores.

Can they not set up on sidewalks or curbs like firemen with boots do and receive donations as people drive up? They might have to fight the street people for their turf though.

I feel that anyone who denys the Salvation Army a spot for their bell ringers should be banned. I also feel that people in the areas should write a letter to the editor and explain why you won't shop at a store that won't permit a bell ringer...

If there are enough people in an area, and if you can get a paper to do it, buy a full page ad and explain why you won't shop at a store that won't allow a bell ringer

I just cannot understand this.

SA is one of the most efficient charity organizations in the country. They have a long heritage of serving the poor and downtrodden. I admire them for their unswerving dedication to charitable goals. They are one of my charities. I give to them directly as I do BSA.

I would like someone to explain to me why these large stores and corporations are behaving in this way.

The Salvation Army says it's getting harder each year to find major businesses willing to allow bell ringers to stand outside their business.

Business is feeling that they are more giving than charity.

What a concerning thought that Government and business tote the same attitude.

All that can be said is "Seasons Greetings" without malice.

If you know a teacher, tell him/her to take a religious exemption from forced union dues. The money can go to a charity --- like the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army is the only charity I trust. I can be more sure of personal one-to-one giving but charity cases are often dangerous to be around.

Though I will say: Ixnay on the ellsbay, already. Shhh..

I've been mailing bigger donations to the Salvation Army and not shopping at those stores banning them. I hope others are doing likewise.

The Newport Mall in Jersey City (A simon properties mall) had a Salvation Army fellow there today. He was inside too, which was nicer for him.

Didn't give any money today, as I had no small bills, except what I needed to pay their ridiculous parking fee, but hopefully he'll be there throughout the shopping season, so I'll get him next time.

The Salvation Army has been attacked ever since it has decided against providing domestic partner benefits for its homosexual and unmarried employees in 2001.

The Salvation Army is on the top of our Charities list...

We've abandoned any and all charities that sell out the Boy Scouts, deny Christian activities, promote the mental disease of homosexuality, or have anything to do with the anti American democratic party.

As you can imagine, our givings list is short... The Salvation Army is the one organization that we trust and enable with our dollars, to do the right thing.

Is there a good list of these stores anywheres? I'm only asking, because if I had a list, then I would know
WHICH STORES TO AVOID, AND NOT SET A FOOT THERE, EVEN BY ACCIDENT!!!!!!

I do not feel sorry for them. I will NEVER give the SA another dime. I went to volunteer through them (as a Christian organization) to help the Katrina victims. We were told we had to attend a 2 hour orientation.

I went to the orientation with my best friend at the SA headquarters in Denver . We were subjected to 2 hours of the most vile PC bilge I have ever heard. Most of the talk was about how living through Katrina was just like slavery, and that being in the Superdome was like being a slave on the middle passage. I belive if you can say this with a straight face, you have no clue what slavery was like, much less the middle passage.

That said, I was willing to sit through that to be able to minister as a Christian to those in need. BUT WAIT--among other things we were told that we would not be able to speak to the evacuees about God--you see they might be mad at God for the hurricane, and we couldn't upset them. You could not even say God bless to them

To alert us to how serious they were about this and may other PC restrictions, they informed us that they had escorted volunteers out of the facilities under armed guard. I wish this rant was sarcasm, but it is not.

The SA has left its Christian roots and become a totally koolaid drinking PC agency. They have seen their last money from me, I will give to the rescue missions instead.

The Mall of Louisiana says they told the Salvation Army in January
they would not allow bell ringers.

That's interesting to know.
The Salvation Army in Jefferson City, MO reported shortages of supplies
for this Thanksgiving...because of diversions to Louisiana
and other hurrican areas.

Nice move Mall of Louisiana. (end sarcasm mode)
