Today, Senator Daniel Inouye, the Ranking Member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, released the following statement:
"As a Veteran of World War II, I know what its like to fight a war and put your life on the line every day. I also know what it takes to win a war, and I know that politics and an attack machine like the Presidents plays no part in it.
"The Republican Partys latest ad is a shameful and disgusting attempt to distract the American people from the problems in Iraq. It may improve the Presidents political fortunes, but the American people and our troops will pay the price. I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to play politics when what we really need is leadership, and that he will direct his Party to take down this ad immediately."

Who's playing politics here! Kerry, Dean, and many more.
They're the ones who should be condemned!

Goodness, this Senator must ONLY read Republican messages, watch Republican ads and read Republican press releases because the dems have a pretty clear record of ugly attacks and dishonorable behavior.

Senator with all due respect, STFU. Would you rather the enemy be emboldened by hatred and lies? Or the enemy to be disheartened by a strong President willing to take his enemies, both foreign and domestic, straight on?

Actually InNoWay has it backwards. The left plays no part in a loyal opposition. They have crossed the line. This RNC video outs them and I think that's great.

It's funny how the Dims find a veteran, so they can sound like the moral highground. I've never even heard of this guy.

If the Senator wanted to defend his country's honor, he would have piped up when his party's assclown chairman stated that Americans couldn't win this war, and when his party's assclown presidential candidate stated that Americans are terrorizing women and children.
If he didn't have anything to say then, he has no right to pipe up now.

All the ad does is replay Kerry and Dean's exact quotes. What's the problem?

Inouye? I thought that ol Bolshevik died 10 years ago : )
To: bnelson44
No no no. It's not an attack ad!
It's a SURRENDER ad.
To: Stayingawayfromthedarkside
There are so few, it wouldn't be too far out of line to call them "token veterans."

Why is this an issue? Isn't the only place one can view the ad is at GOP.com?
