"He saw a lot of wrongdoing in the world and wanted to help make things right," said his father, also named Daniel McGowan, 64.
What "wrongdoing" - "Iraq reconstruction"?
Ship these home-grown terrorists to Gitmo and put them in a cell with "women are for babies, men are for fun" Achmed.
Anything to save Mother Earth from the evil Bush regime, right?

I was at the sawmill where I used to work the other day and I see that the lone unarmed guard is long gone. He's been replaced with a team of 8 armed and authorized highly trained guards. My old boss says that they spent over 30 million dollars on security upgrades that they never needed before due to threats from ecoterrorists.

SourcePVCC student arrested on federal charges of eco-terrorism
Thursday, December 08, 2005 - Lynne Vogt
|
A Piedmont Virginia Community College student has been arrested on federal charges of eco-terrorism. 28-year-old Stanislaus Gregory Meyerhauf of Charlottesville is among six people indicted in Oregon and Washington. The arrest stems from attacks claimed by the Earth Liberation Front and Animal Liberation Front. Investigators say Meyerhauf is connected to two fires, one at a lumber company and another at a tree farm, both in Oregon. Meyerhauf had a court hearing Thursday morning in Charlottesville. He waived his right to extradition and will be transported back to Oregon. |

There are hidden contradictions in the minds of people who "love Nature" while deploring the "artificialities" with which "Man has spoiled 'Nature.' " The obvious contradiction lies in their choice of words, which imply that Man and his artifacts are not part of "Nature", but beavers and their dams are. But the contradictions go deeper than this prima-facie absurdity. In declaring his love for a beaver dam (erected by beavers for beavers' purposes) and his hatred for dams erected by men (for the purposes of men) the "Naturist" reveals his hatred for his own race, i.e. his own self-hatred. In the case,of "Naturists" such self-hatred is understandable; they are such a sorry lot. But hatred is too strong an emotion to feel toward them; pity and contempt are the most they rate. As for me, willy-nilly I am a man, not a beaver, and H. sapiens is the only race I have or can have. Fortunately for me, I like being part of a race made up of men and women, it strikes me as a fine arrangement and perfectly "natural."

The Greenies and their allies always bemoan the lack of "affordable housing." Lumber and lumber products are the primary components of most housing. Replacing one unarmed watchman, who was prrobably paid at the low end of the company's compensation scale, with eight armed and fully trained guards, who are much more heavily compensated, can only add a great deal to that mill's costs and prices. Isn't it a wonder how the left does its level best "to help the poor and assure affordable housing for everyone?" [Sarcasm off!]
