Amidst all the hustle and bustle at this "holiday" time of year, we at The Patriot received a nice Christmas card from President Bush. From a few conservatives arose such a clatter, that we opened it up to see what was the matter. As it turns out, the card does not actually say "Christmas," though it does include Psalm 28:7: "The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him." It certainly qualified as a Christmas card, thank you!
Now if the White House really wanted to send out a sensitive PC holiday card, it would have noted "Merry Chrishanakwamadan" in order to meet the Left's diversity criteria, or, in the Seinfeld tradition, "Happy Festivus."
Incidentally, The Patriot also received a "holiday" card from our pals at the DNC. On its cover was Howard Dean in a sleigh with nine Demos pulling it alongof course, Kennedy was out front with the red nose. On the inside, it simply noted, "Treason's Greetings!"
Sweet mercy. I *must* use this in a parody! Who's the author and how can I reach him (or her)?
Funny!! I always make a point of buying cards that are religious and have the word Christmas in them. There sadly aren't that many to choose from, and fewer every year, it seems.
"Treason's Greetings!"

So perfect.
A friend of mine has all the cards back to 2001, and none of them say Christmas, but they all quote Scripture. This is not something new this year.

Cute. I wanted to mention about the White House Christmas card. We got it and although it refers to "Holiday Season" it also quotes scripture, so it doesn't bother me as being non religious at all. And I think it's reasonable that in a country with many religions, including the many Christian denominations, the President would refer to the Holiday Season for all. After all, I'm Catholic and he does not share my religion.
I also checked mine since 2001.I don't see what all the fuss is about.
Treason's Greetings?? LOL...sounds like a good tagline!
This wonderful phrase was published in today's Federalist Patriot, to which one can subscribe at the link I provided in the post. These fine patriots do not divulge who wrote what, but they provide excellent encouragement for fellow patriots who love this country and the Lord God of heaven who reigns.
LOL!
Sweet!
I was so happy to GET a Christmas card and the thing I enjoyed most was the scripture verse which has been on all three cards I have received!
Yes. Scripture trumps "Merry Christmas" and besides, this is different. It is his own personal card that he and his wife signed (well, electronically signed). It's not really a government thing. It is not sent to everyone. Nor is it at all comparable to the idiocy of retailers who covet the dollars of Christmas shoppers yet refuse to respect those shoppers by acknowledging the name of the holiday. And they force their employees to downgrade Christmas as though it is something too offensive to mention. That's entirely different. The President is entitled to express his greetings any way he wishes. I think the Bible verse is wonderful.
I love receiving our Christmas Card from the White House, and appreciated the Bible verse as wonderful as well :).
I look for those too. They are getting harder and harder to find which is a shame. Jesus is the reason for the season. Merry Christmas.
