A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

~ Billie, Dutchess, DollyCali, Mama_Bear, GodBlessUSA ~

Good morning, FReeper FRiends! We're Christmas'ing all this month at the Finest, and this weekend you are invited to join us on a tour of the Finest Homes, where many of our regulars are going to share their decorations with you in their posts throughout the weekend. In addition, we would love to see your Christmas trees, your outdoor lights, favorite decorations, recipes, Christmas traditions in your home.

Because the thread may get really *graphics-heavy*, I ask that you keep your photos a reasonable size (both physical and in bytes), but do hope you will feel free to post as many as you like, and drop in often to see the offerings of others. I will start with a little bit of Christmas in my kitchen, which helps get me in the mood to bake cookies and other goodies we don't need but think we can't do without. :)

As we share our photos and traditions with others, I'd like to share a link to a wonderful Christmas album: "Merry Christmas With love" by Clay Aiken, who has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. My favorite song is #6: "Mary Did You Know". I've been listening to it over and over and over, but you should be able to listen to all of the songs on that CD.

Clay Aiken ~ "Merry Christmas With Love"

Mary Did You Know

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby you kissed the face of God?

Mary did you know.. Ooo Ooo Ooo

The blind will see.
The deaf will hear.
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap.
The dumb will speak
The praises of The Lamb.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will one day rule the nations?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am.

From My House to Yours.....

Merry Christmas, Ya'll!

Oh Rus, sad to say that at 99 years her time is most likely near an end. Especially sad for her to go home at Christmas. Glorious for her, but sad for you and family. I pray that she will rally and fool us all.

Yep, hopeless. Breaker of showers etc. ...BTW, you mentioned being tired. Are you overdoing it at the studio? Poor Roy has been swamped, and sick to boot. What does Chachi think of all the Christmas excitement? Probably thinks you're throwing a party for him.

Wish you were here Lori......

And, oh, how I would love to be in your pretty little church on Christmas morning. As a matter of fact......I WILL be there, in spirit. :-)

No, but poor JK, he is buried under so much work! It's always this way at Christmas, and so many people are relying on him to come through with their special portrait gifts for their loved ones. He can't let them down. Never has in over 25 years. I understand what it is like for your son. When you are in business for yourself, you work when you are sick...you don't have any choice.

No, I am tired because of having to tend to my MIL's needs, which I don't mind doing at all. It is my way of helping JK out. It frees him to be able to tend to his responsibilities at the studio. But it is wearing me down a bit. Just can't keep going like I used to years ago. LOL

Yes, Chachi is absolutely sure all of this decorating is for him. He is fascinated with the lights and the bows on the packages. This is a true story. The other day my mother told me that Chachi was sniffing at one of the bows under the tree and Jackie growled at him. Chachi backed away as if he had been yelled at.......and he hasn't gone near the packages since. See, Jackie has been around for many Christmas' and he knows that you don't mess with the packages until Christmas morning. Isn't that funny?

LOL!! I will never live that down. I was talking to scubachick yesterday and she mentioned that little episode AGAIN...said she was telling mr. scuba about it and reliving it and laughing about it all over again.

BTW, I have been meaning to ask. Is your new shower attachment working okay? I sure hope so.

Oh you would love it Lori. Tomorrow I will go and build a stable under that window with one of the backdrops from the studio. Next Sunday we will have the set ready for the actors to take their places in the living Nativity during the cantada. We had choir practice today after services. Sounds really good. It's going to be a very busy week. Got word tonight that daughter and husband are coming next Mon. Ouch! More work to be done. I haven't really started my Christmas shopping yet.

My guests tell me that the shower is wonderful. BTW, did Scubachick mention if she got the box I sent? She hasn't mentioned it and I just want to make sure it didn't get lost.

Those new DDG's have a dramatically different look from the DD's and DDG's I remember from the 60's. I remember seeing them mostly as they unreped beside our LPH-8. I saw the back half of this one in floating dry dock in late 69. Frank E. Evans ...cut into between the stacks.

You really are a beautiful young woman. I looked at your profile page. Love the picture of you and your friend in Montana. Why on earth hasn't some nice conservative gentleman swept you off your feet?

I posted your comments again thinking Hmmmmmm
maybe some nice conservative gentleman might notice! LOL

You are so kind, really so encouraging as I am having a "ugly" day today and your comments were a little gift to me today, thank you

Yo! GBA.. The idea was to have Billie "Bop" Wolfie on the noggin'...then turn him over to the EIB for a "photo"!

Ya know...then Wolfie would then be the Newest Elf (only with a tail!) Ho! Ho!
