John Kerry Blames Rush Limbaugh for Iraq Blooper
Failed presidential candidate John Kerry blamed top conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh Friday morning for the uproar over his claim that U.S. troops were terrorizing Iraqi women and children.
"You know, the only people who are trying to make anything out of that, to be honest with you, are Rush Limbaugh and a few people on the right," Kerry told radio host Don Imus.
On Sunday Kerry told CBS's "Face the Nation" that there was "no reason ... that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the - of - the historical customs, religious customs - Iraqis should be doing that."
Asked if he meant to say that American soldiers were guilty of terrorism, Kerry claimed: "Obviously not."
What he meant to say, he insisted, was: "After three years, Iraqis ought to be capable of searching a home ... It's inexplicable that when the biggest killers in Iraq are suicide bombers and IEDs, improvised explosive devices, that we're still on the front lines going into homes and going out in the dead of night. And it scares people."
The one-time top Democrat said that he'd like to see U.S. troops redeployed "in a way that accomplishes the goal but does it without needlessly putting troops at risk and incurring greater difficulties in feeding the insurgency."
Citing a year-old Washington Post report that claimed Iraqis resented home searches by U.S. troops, Kerry said his "terrorizing" comment was meant to be constructive.
"That resentment hurts our soldiers," he told Imus. "I'm trying to help our soldiers. We all are."

I believe that Rush said that Kerry is suffering from dementia. It's a plausable excuse if he is....

Kerry Strategy:
- Demand that we defeat the insurgency
- Deligitimize the means of doing so
- Repeat
Kerry was doing this on Face The Nation. If you read the transcript, immediately after his "terrorizing" comment, Scheiffer sensibly (considering that these raids are a primary and indispensable component of the anti-insurgency efforts) asks Kerry if he means that we shouldn't fight the insurgents.
Kerry says no, and adds that we should be "going after hard intelligence" and "going after Zarqawi" using "Special Forces". What are Kerry's "special forces" supposed to do? Sit in a bunker somewhere and pull "hard intelligence" out their clymers?
Kerry is either an idiot, or he knows damn well that "special forces" work with regular forces to gather intelligence via these raids, and that this is exactly how we got Saddam, with hundreds and hundreds of these raids. Nor did we respect Arab "customs" in doing so. One custom, for instance, being that you don't ask Arabs about their families and other close personal relations -- but doggedly prying into such relations (by interrogations; confiscating computers, letters and photos; etc) were precisely what allowed the military to zero in on Saddam.

"Yes, indeed- John Kerry thinks it's 1971 all over again. Yesterday, on "Face the Nation"
John Kerry once again slams American troops- Check it out-
"And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the-of-the historical customs, religious customs."
Here is the transcript for "Face the Nation"-

You will find this statement at the bottom of page 4 and the top of page 5.
"When former Attorney General Ramsey Clark isnt defending Saddam Hussein, or giving speeches for the crypto-Stalinist International ANSWER, hes acting as counsel for the Palestine Liberation Organization, trying to prevent families of murdered Jews from collecting on judgments against the PLO."

From Kerry's "The New Soldier":
Al Hubbard Sgt., 22 Troop Carrier Squadron Aug. 65-June 66
Emotions: Walking down the flight line at Saigon past stacks of aluminum cases containing American bodies and past stacks of aluminum luggage containing American currency. Seeing the tight, sad face of an Airman loading the bodies aboard a dirty Air Force Transport and the wide smiling face of a stewardess greeting the passengers aboard a clean Pan American Clipper Jet. Hearing a Vietnamese beg you to leave his country and an American colonel tells you to bomb his country. Hearing a Vietnamese invite you to live in his home, after the war and an American explain why you cant live in his block, after the war. Flying over barren, brown, safe American held terrain and over lush, green unsafe enemy terrain. Feeling happy to be leaving a country in which you do not belong and sad to be returning to a country in which you are not allowed to belong. Sacrificing a portion of your consciousness so you wont have to deal with being there and building mental blocks so you wont have to deal with having been there.
- Al Hubbard, proven fraud who never set foot in Viet Nam. The only Vietnamese he ever met was when he was collaborating with the North Vietnamese in Paris on the American Communist Party's nickel.
John Kerry's explanation: "He (Hubbard) simply exaggarated his particular position.
But nobody knew it at the time.
And those things happen."

How the hell do you redeploy the troops to keep them from being at risk during a war?
Our troops, God bless them, have killed thousands of terrorists and captured many thousands more doing exactly what they are doing now. Arm chair generals need to stay the hell out of advising the commanders on how to fight this war.
I thank God everyday that neither Howard Dean our Flip Flop Kerry got elected president of this country.
