Beam me up.
Beam me anything.
Just don't beam me late for beer.

Physicists have managed to "entangle" the physical state of a group of atoms with that of another group of atoms across the room.

Used to happen all the time at the Physics Dep't keggers Friday night at college...

Maybe an FTL drive in the making.

Physicists everywhere will be thrilled to find out that they can finally achieve entanglement.

The universe is so elegant and mysterious. Filled with genius.

Yet, remarkably, because of the entanglement, both possibilities existed simultaneously.

Sorry, not possible.

(oops...that would be 'hidden' cameras, of course. "hideen" cameras are found only in Hideen)

;)

So did they make something happen in one by doing something to the other or what?

Article doesn't seem very clear. Unless the big hoopla is doing something to one thing and making NOTHING happen to the other when SOMETHING should have happened.

Enough with the voodo, just give me a teleporter and warp drive already, alright.

Dunno. I do know, however, what my Irish Physics 101 prof would have said: "I dunno wha ya cannuh see it--it's rot thar in frunnuh ya!"

Oh but there's so much we don't know, still.

For example - why do the electrons in democrats' brains flow in such a direction so as to create a greater propensity for them to be traitorous?

So when can we start making women's clothes jump across the room?

I think it's the quantum version of "you and I are locked in a room with only one beer in the fridge." If the beer is later found to be gone, then either you drank it or I did, even though we were both thirsty, but they don't know which of us did.

At least that's what I got out of it.

Unlike the rest of you skeptical b*st*rds I think this will work.

One day, we'll deploy our troops by transmorgrification physics. You all thought that Capt. Kirk was joking about beaming him down? You all lauhged at Calvin?

I can't wait for the day that the airborne pukes will yell 'Oh! Shit!' as their being disinterred from a bodily state, teleportated 6000 clicks away, and being re-assembled into fighting men, and then into a real 'vertical envelopment'.

Hooahh!
