"prepare to make the transition and pass the baton."

LOL! Interesting choice of metaphor.

If I was his successor I'd tell him "Uhh ... no thanks - you keep the baton!"

Don't use the word "blew" around the soon to be ex-mayor. He must might.

I guess even voters in Seattle have their limits.

West has not been charged with any crime....

...but is in final negotiations for a new series for HGTV called Political Eye for the Queer Guy.

Gotta remember he had a little "r" after his name. If he had been a demo-rat, he would still be mayor.

The Spokesman-Review newspaper conducted an undercover investigation and reported in a series of articles beginning May 5 that West was a closeted homosexual who visited gay chat rooms on his city-owned laptop computer and offered internships and other favors to young men he hoped to have sex with.

Not that there's anything wrong with that . . .

Pssst. Spokane is 279 miles east of Seattle. Much closer to Idaho.

"Mayor Jim West was recalled from office Tuesday..."

Artemus Gordon was unavailable for comment.

It's Spokane. Dunno about the city itself, but the eastern half of Washington is as conservative as Idaho.

I refuse to answer that until you read the article.

You're right, mainly A&E, however, HGTV decorators are starting wear thin. Just about the time you see a sledgehammer about ready to strike some drywall, they cut to a guy discussing the ambiance of some fruity-colored room :^{
