Tell me, Herr Antoninus, how do you propose to enforce your prohibition of sodomy between consenting adults when the act is performed in the privacy of their homes?
Will you install cameras throughout our houses?
Will you install a policeman in every house? What if the policeman is a Sodomite too or takes a bribe to turn a blind eye? Maybe you'll need two or more cops in every house to watch each other.
Will you issue government mandated chastity belts where sex can only occur under your watchful eye?
As far as I am concerned, let the Sodomites kill themselves with their sexual perversion. I don't care what they do in the privacy of their homes, but if there is a consequence for their acts, THEY SHOULD BEAR THE RESPONSIBILITY.

The federal government is VERY limited in it's criminal powers (please read what Thomas Jefferson said in The Kentucky Resolutions...that suns up federal criminal powers fairly well.
Now as for the states, I don't care which way they go: let a conservative state like Utah impose the death penalty for posessing a joint if the people there so desire; & let a liberal state like the People's Republic of California legalize EVERYTHING if they want to. Doing so would bring back the SELF-GOVERNMENT that the Founders believed was @ the heart of our FEDERAL system.

I'll buy ignorance on the part of the citizens, and admit most of the media, while advancing an evil agenda, are just useless idiots as well as ignorant.
But the pols, even if this is true, do not deserve to be let off.
If I suddenly became exalted ruler, I'd hang them, except for a very very few.
The Media, I'd just put in a pit and bulldoze over them.
Even innocent, they don't merit redemption.
Then, I could go ahead rebuilding the citizenry into people who could rule themselves again, so that I could get back to my chosen life of isolated anonymity and peaceful obscurity.

Dontcha know officious meddling state sponsored busy bodies know what's best for each of us...all the time.....in every situation? Our finances....our bedrooms...our kitchens.....how much water belongs in our toilets......what kind of car we should drive.....what gas mileage it should get....the innoculations our children should have.....all should be controlled by those who know best.
Why do you question the will of the state? Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
These days I practice as a doctor and not a journalist.
But, you are right about an important point you made. America is Conservative and there is a market for not only real journalism, but for decent films for adults, films without cursing or sexual content. The market is there, and content providers are beginning to recognize that fact.
Then find a principled conservative and support him. Supporting a Dem or failing to support the Republican only gives power to the Dems. Life ain't pretty but it is all we have.
If we continue to support Republicans, even when they piddle on us, they'll continue to piddle on us. Nuts to that. If we take them to the woodshed, show them who's boss, maybe next time they'll think twice before double crossing principled conservatives. The party needs a trip to the woodshed and Hell will freeze over before I vote for Tricky Ricky again.

PA conservatives had the opportunity to elect (what we thought to be) the second conservative senator, but the whole GOP infrastructure exerted itself to crush him. Even fellow conservatives Bush and Specter supported the RINO out of party protocol. Principle be damned.
If a challenger stood up to Santorum, the full weight of the Party would be brought to bear again. You can't remove Ricky by challenging him. He and the Party must understand that they screwed the pooch last year and the result will be that Ricky WILL lose next November. Our only chance to hold that seat is for Ricky to be told to get out or to be given some cushy job somewhere.
I and others have been saying it for 18 months or longer. We told party officials. We've told Santorum. We're telling everyone. If they don't listen, it's not our fault.
