do you realize how many mobsters have been put away for those crimes?

Yes. Do you realize how many mobsters have walked on those crimes? John Gotti was acquitted three times before he went down and even then, he was convicted only after the court disqualified his legal team.

very few have walked. they got Gotti eventually, and the lower ranks of the families have been decimated by convictions using RICO - no shortage of convictions.

True, and many of RICO convictions come out of the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, as well as U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York, where the prosecutors and their support staff have had a lot of practice in these types of difficult cases. Maybe lack of prosecutorial experience in cases like this did play a role in the acquittal.

This reminds me of the verdict acquitting that jihadi "student" in Idaho, who led the MSA at his university and was a member of CAIR.
Either our legal system is incapable of dealing with the problem, or the average juror is too stupid to connect the dots.

This ranks right up there with the Crown Heights acquital of Limerick Nelson in terms of outright stupidity, though on a much larger scale.
El-Sayyid Nosair was found not guilty of killing Rabbi Meyer Kahane even though he was in possession of the gun. Nosair later took part in the 1993 WTC attack.
Had the FBI and then the NYS Judiciary not screwed up so royally, the 1993 attack could have been prevented.

It seems to me that when Jews are murdered by Islamists, juries stop caring.

The Justice Department screwed up that case from day one.

With a few notable exceptions, the late John O'Neill, James Kalstrom, among others, federal investigative agencies like the FBI are staffed at the top almost exclusively by clock-punchers, career bureaucrats, political hacks, and other dross, who are more interested in covering their asses than fulfilling their primary roles, i.e. protecting this nation from domestic and foreign threats.

John Miller wrote a book that focused on the follies that plagued the investigation into Nosair and his collaborators.

Satan is very much alive, and living in FLORIDA! Someone needs to rework that Ithaca graphic into "Florida...State of Evil"

Florida is a great state with a great governor. Hillsborough (Tampa)and Pinellas (St. Petersburg) counties are pretty liberal, but for the most part we are a conservative state, voting twice for W. So, with that said, I have 4 words to say to you:

What a buncha lowlifes. I wish they'd hag 'em from the highest palm tree, those coconuts!

Send the frickin' jurors to Gitmo, post haste.

You show your ignorance with your comments about the jurors. Did it ever occur to any of you self proclaimed experts that when they couldn't get convictions on any of the 17 accounts that there could have been something wrong with the case or the evidence.

But no matter to some of you yo-yo's you still take the time to insult a very fine state.

What it does show is why I have lost a lot of respect for this site and I will frankly say that I am glad that those of you pot shotting Florida do not live here.

We have a great state without you and don't need it drug down to your level.

So buzz off and talk about something you may know something about, you don't know jack about Florida.

Sami al-Arian has more tenacles than an octopus, lordy, you guys are going to reap what you sow but don't turn them loose on the rest of us... You'll soon see.

I didn't turn him loose, he is not loose and unless you have some information you are not sharing I doubt you know what went on.

My opinion has always been that he is guilty, however I have enough common sense to think that when he is aquited, not a hung jury, on 8 counts that there was something wrong with the case. And that no matter it is not the citizens of Florida that did it, ti was a jury. And since it takes all the jurors to agree, it would seem to me it would take more analysis than the knee jerk analysis by you and a lot of other people here that like to take pot shots instead of trying to understand what happened.

I'm starting to think I would rather have McPain as president and them on America's side than Bush/Cheney drawing more fragging from within.

You are one uninformed dude and it's sheeple like you that are willing to sell this country down the river, simply because it's an "easy" choice and the MSM likes McCain. Never mind the mounds of documented information that proves McCain is an egotistic traitor to this country, you go right ahead and vote against anyone the MSM tells you who is "bad". < / vomit>

No need to be obscene to montag813. He's expressing some justifiable rage at the state of Florida. Granted, its the good conservative people who are keeping the state afloat in sanity, but even you have to admit there are far too many idiots who serve on juries and vote in your state.

All Floridians should cringe that any jury in the state would see fit to let Sami Al Arian off. It is a travesty of justice and should be condemned by all Americans. The prosecutors will hopefully reindict and convict this bastard as long as they can get a decent enough jury in the next voir dire.

I hear ya loud and clear. Incrementally, the commie dems are encroaching where no freedom loving Americans would ever imagine their enterance. To overcome their hatred of America and it's founding principals, we need to stay forever vigil and committed to their defeat.
