Monday, Dec. 5, 2005 11:43 p.m. EST Michael Reagan: Dean 'Should Be Hung'
Michael Reagan, son of the late President Ronald Reagan, is blasting Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean for declaring that the U.S. won't be able to win the war in Iraq, saying Dean ought to be "hung for treason."
"Howard Dean should be arrested and hung for treason or put in a hole until the end of the Iraq war!" Reagan told his Radio America audience on Monday.
Reagan was reacting to Dean's comments earlier in the day, when the top Democrat said that the "idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong."
In a Texas radio interview, Dean predicted a rerun of the Vietnam debacle, where U.S. forces had to withdraw after Congress voted to cut support for South Vietnam's government.
"This is the same situation we had in Vietnam," the top Democrat said. "Everybody then kept saying, 'just another year, just stay the course, we'll have a victory.' Well, we didn't have a victory, and this policy cost the lives of an additional 25,000 troops because we were too
stubborn to recognize what was happening."
Dean said he favored a plan to immediately withdraw National Guard and Reserve troops - with all military personnel slated to be out of Iraq within two years.
No but the "no neck" part reminds me of an old Steve Martin joke - it seems that Steve wanted to meet a girl "with a head on her shoulders" because "I hate necks". LOL.
You watch, as an example of how twisted today's media is, Reagan's comments will get stir a firestorm, and Dean's bullshit convelescence and defeatism will be proped as wise.
There is no such thing as TREASON in the US anymore. Dosen't exist. If it did there would be quite a few hangings by now. When was TREASON taken off the books as a crime ?
Now watch the leftist girly-men and manly-girls come out screaming.
Of course, they would not say squat when Dean and Kerry spew treason. Get the popcorn.
Bravo, Michael.
I recognize Dean's usefulness for our side as a blitering idiot mouthpiece of the left, but he's now actively working to disspirit the morale of our troops and boost that of our enemy, and that's NOT acceptable. I wish some of the politicians on our side would put the "isn't it great that we live in a society where everyone can say what they think..." line away, and start calling these scum what they are.
On reflection, Michael was right!
No, humans are hanged, animals are hung.
I wanted him to run instead of Kerry, but apparently the dems caught on to my reasoning.
"Savage has afar greater audience and has been saying this for years."
I know. I have been listening to Savage since he auditioned. He started as a producer for the AM show in SF Bay Area.
But! National Political Parties and Media ignore him.
It is harder to ignore Michael Reagan! Last name and all!
I also agree.
Of course the MSM will tell us how mean the Republicans are.
The scuz-bucket is worthless and should be GONE forever!
In a wiser time!
Dean is nothing but a modern day copperhead: a low down snake in the grass. The Democratic party and its press allies tried to undermine the Union war effort 1861-65. They were wrong then. They are wrong now. Events will prove that it is so.
Dean should be charged and convicted of treason. Since when did politics involve actively encouraging your own country's defeat in order to try to get yourself back in power?
For what it's worth I tuned into Mancow in the morning here in L.A. for a few minutes during my drive to work and he basically said the same thing, even prefacing it with "...now I'm not a Republican or Democrat..." then going on to say something to the effect of "...Dean should be charged with treason."
"That's because in today's USA, there's no such thing as a Declaration of War."
Good point.
Exactly. I'm getting weary, and my patience is at its breaking point, of the comments that we need to just let the nutjobs keep talking because they're good for the Republican Party. I know what the FReeper means, but good God Almighty, the Republican Party ain't footin' the bill. The troops are paying the piper.
And they were right. After the Democrats undermined our effort and we pulled out, the communists did gain victory.
