A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

With the holiday season in full swing and Christmas fast approaching, I asked a Few of Our Finest to set some of their finest Christmas tables to present throughout these next few weeks. Each one has chosen her own theme, and no one else has seen it. Today our featured guest artists are deadhead and tuliptree76.

I hope you enjoy and appreciate their beautiful Christmas offerings as much as I do. It's always rewarding when we have our Finest' contributions, but never moreso than during the Christmas holidays.
Thank you, Colleen and Tulip!

Ornament Wreaths

Every year, I make one or two ornament wreaths as gifts. They are very easy to make, even for those of us who aren’t very crafty! The following is how to make an ornament wreath.

You will need:
(1) A circular wreath form (Large or small)
(2) Ball Christmas ornaments (glass, plastic, or satin – all sizes and colors)
(3) A glue gun and hot glue

Dab a little glue on the wreath form where you would like to place an ornament, and then attach the ornament to the form. Make sure the metal or plastic loop on the ornament faces in towards the form so that it doesn't show when the wreath is finished. Keep adding glue and ornaments until you cover the front and sides of the wreath form. Don't put any ornaments on the back of the form so that it can easily hang on a wall.

I like to put the larger ornaments as a base around the form and use the smaller ornaments to fill in the gaps between the larger ornaments. I also like to start at the back of the wreath and move to the front, but there is no set way on arranging the ornaments. After you cover the form, you can add bows or other decorations if you like. Also, add a wire or string to the back so you can hang it.

Hint: Add the string or wire to the wreath form before you add the ornaments. It will make tying the string easier.

And now you have a beautiful wreath for you or someone else to enjoy!

Merry Christmas!

Yes, 8-3, nearly double the pay, paid holidays and vacation. McD's don't pay you OT to work a holiday, much less holiday pay, and unless you are a 'full-time' employee they don't do vacation pay either.

With Mr. Scubachick home from Iraq, we went on a little family vacation. Plus we had the whole inside of the house painted, my mom came out from California for the babychick's first birthday and Thanksgiving, so my computer time has been limited for about two months! It's great to be back though!

That's beautiful, Billie.

I had to go back and see what you were talking about. :) Thank you - one thing about you - you always answer your pings, even if they're a few days old. :)

Hugs, PaL!

We left early Wednesday and were closed yesterday (Thursday) due to the weather. We got about a foot of dry snow Wednesday night. The kind of snow that it is hard to get any traction in, can't make snowmen (or any snow sculptures) out of it either. I'm sure it was great for sledding, it was so darn cold though! There was steam coming off of my mittens after I swept snow!
