Events in the Middle East are starting to sound an awful lot like a lead up to the war of Gog and Magog prophesied in the Bible. If youve read the article about this on our site, you know that a possible player in that war is Russia, who will form an alliance with Islamic countries to attack Israel.
If Israel does what it recently promised to do and attacks Iran before it can get Nuclear weapons, its not hard to imagine Russian weapons being used by the coalition nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38 to launch an attack on Israel. However, some interpretations of this prophecy include Iraq in the coalition of nations, which would rule out the war of Gog and Magog starting any time soon. Whether this is a build up to a fulfillment of Ezekiel 38 or not, Irans nuclear program may lead to violence between nations that will change the politics and the landscape of the Middle East forever.
The long range missiles Russia is giving Iran should definitely be of concern to all of us. Unfortunately, I dont expect the EU or the U.S. to have the political will to do anything about it - anything more than make idle threats and draft resolutions, that is. Its probably up to Israel to protect itself, at least initially.
Russia has agreed to sell more than $1 billion worth of missiles and other defense systems to Iran, Russian news media reported Friday, a move expected to draw a heated reaction from the United States.
The Interfax and ITAR-Tass news agencies cited unidentified sources in the Russian military-industrial complex as saying that Russian and Iranian officials had signed contracts in November that would send up to 30 Tor-M1 missile systems to Iran over the next two years.
Interfax said the Tor-M1 system could identify up to 48 targets and fire at two targets simultaneously at a height of up to 20,000 feet.
The news agency quoted its source as saying the two countries had reached a deal on modernizing Irans air force inventory, as well.
A tip for the Iranians: Israel wins. Whether God miraculously protects them, as has happened in other Islamic/Israeli wars, or the Russian weapons function about as well as they did in Afghanistan, Israel wins.
A tip for Russia: It probably wasnt the smartest thing for Putin to give weapons to the friends of his enemy in Chechnya. The same Jihadist groups that are waging Jihad from Iran, with the full support of the Mullahs, are killing school children in Chechnya. Does Putin really believe Iran would hesitate for a second to give the Chechnyan rebels what they need to win a victory for Islam?
Nuclear attack followed by ground invasion may be possible under this scenario.
Some people say that the Chechnya war was sparked by the Russians to whip up Nationalist and Communist support for the Kremlin.
I still think they have sinister motives and should not be trusted.
Well, at the very least we can publicly take a more proactive stance against Iran. Like officially denouncing this sale. Or we could just take Iran.
IRAQ takes most of our time..IRAN is on the back burner and I am sure they are taking full advantage knowing that.

U.S. Army report: Israel can't stop Iran nukes
Geez, Putin. What are you doing?
(With friends like that, who needs enemas?)
Bones
"
He is no fool. Putin will provoke the US into a major war with Iran"
There can be no major war with Iran. Iran is mush weaker than Iraq was. They would just be a bump in the highway. For that mater, Israel wouldn't even need our help.
As an aside, I mention in passing that Ivanov met with Singh > a good move on Ivanov's part.
Th US sould offer 2 billion for the lot and see if the Russians balk.
"Iran is mush weaker than Iraq was."
Wrong.
And still, I can't get one stinkin' full-auto AK-47.
Excellent. Both Israel and the U.S. have a long history destroying infrerior Russian weapons' systems, and it's great fun.
