Joshua Sparling just got to Walter Reed last week and received ONE letter from someone writing in a child's printing. Among other things it told him to die. The soldier has the card on the wall of his room. I know FReepers can counter this despicable action with some of our own letters.

I've already mailed my cards, and as I told my daughter, it was the least, truly the very least I could do, to show my appreciation to these gallant soldiers. But it felt very good to write to each one of them.

Coop, thanks for all your hard work. Please give us an update of how Joshua Sparling and the other brave soldiers at Walter Reed reacted when they got all those letters.
I got some goodies/cards in from TX, WA and NY last week. Had an intermediary deliver them to the folks listed in Brian K's article on Joshua, since I got there kind of late in the evening. I plan to post an after-action report after next week, when I'll have received more of the items and maybe even have had a chance to meet Joshua or one of the others.
