[history]
This story was reported on Fox and Friends this morning.
Joshua Sparling just got to Walter Reed last week and received ONE letter from someone writing in a child's printing. Among other things it told him to die. The soldier has the card on the wall of his room. I know FReepers can counter this despicable action with some of our own letters.
Joshua Sparling
Walter Reed Army Medical Center
6900 Georgia Avenue N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20307-5001
Update: Since Joshua will undoubtedly be overwhelmed by America's response, please consider sending (instead of or in addition to Joshua) cards to these find troops:
Excerpt from Brian K. at FNC:
If you have the time, please try and include the others I met along with Col. North and Col. Hunt at Walter Reed:
Capt. James Ollinger
Sgt. Zavian Simspon
Specialist Brian Radke
Specialist Jason Braase
Sgt. David Nevins
Sgt. Jose Ramos
Cpl. Todd Bishop
Sgt. Ryan Donnelly
Sgt. Eva Diane Cochran

Here is a photo of Josh, reading to two little fellows. Ironic the kid that wrote that letter can't be more than 5 years older then them, but worlds apart in every other way.

Glad you did that!
My photo service is so bad that I hate to use it for posting photos most of the time.
Maybe I'll switch over to photobucket. Much better.

This is a death threat. If it's a kid who wrote it, they need to be told why it's wrong. If it's an adult, send them to jail.

OK, you do not like where the administration took us but what the hell, to actually send such note to a soldier recovering .... I am sick and tired of it. What in God's name did he do to deserve such disdain? I am sick of the bad mouthing, the anger, at this point let's finish the job and once they are home then go down this road.It is repulsive. The left harasses the soldiers, treats them criminally, but excuse Kerry's service, and lefties like him, and use it as an example to fit whatever need du jour. He was somehow different. They do not see the disparity there, the double standard. It is despicable.
My word's of support are on their way, too.

Hubby is doing fine...scheduled for a 1 year deployment to Kuwait in late 06.....if they don't retire him first... My nephew JC is back over there right now. He didn't have to go (he's an only child and could have refused a second tour), but he couldn't imagine his men going without him.

I read this post earlier today and imediately started on Christmas cards to all on the list. Included a short note of appreciation for their service and sacrifice. All ten were mailed this afternoon.
The folks on Free Republic are the greatest. I think they will be swamped with cards.
