Lionel Tate became the youngest person sentenced to life in prison in modern U.S. history when he was convicted at the age of 13 of murdering (6-year-old Tiffany Eunick), but he got out on probation after his first conviction was thrown out.
Now, despite that fresh start, he could be going back behind bars for....robbing a delivery man at gunpoint of four pizzas worth $33.60.
His mother, Florida Highway Patrol trooper Kathleen Grossett-Tate, insisted that he stay with her.
He was arrested in September 2004 when police found him outside at 2 a.m. carrying a knife with a 4-inch blade.
...Tate stole one of his mother's guns in March.
In a statement to police in June, Grossett-Tate said she didn't report the incident because Tate and the other teen gave conflicting stories...
Police later found that her three handguns were taken from a closet in her room. Only two have been recovered...
On May 23, Tate...called Domino's Pizza...
The friend later told police that Tate, armed with a revolver, hid behind the door when deliveryman Walter Gallardo arrived with the order.
When Gallardo spotted the gun, he dropped the pizzas and ran, and called police.
Gallardo, 44, positively identified Tate as the assailant and Tate's fingerprints were found on the pizza boxes.
Investigators also discovered that Tate had exchanged cell phone text messages with another friend earlier that day asking if the friend wanted to "bust that lick" -- a street term for robbery.
The friend replied that they should do it at night, and the response from Tate's phone read: "It's better to do it in the daytime when nobody's home and I got my fire," which prosecutors say is a reference to a gun.
Police say they believe the two planned to rob drug dealers.

Although he was 12 years old at the time, he was tall & close to 200 pounds! Shortly after his arrest, the WWF inspired wrestling defense began (brilliant idea from the warped mind of a defense attorney.) Note that the little girl would have been zero fun for any physical contact sport since she was 5-6yrs. old and a mere 45 pounds.
Needless to say, the case received international attention coupled with the Jezze Jackson entourage. They bathed the boy in attention and poor Lionel became the 'youngest victim' of draconian USA & Florida courts.
At this point, Lionel requires lockup and the mother, Officer Tate, needs to be reexamined. Was she really at the apartment and sleeping midday when her godchild was killed? Why are her guns left unlocked where her out-of-control son can have access to them? Which thugs did he sell her guns to and who will be robbed or killed as a result of her carelessness?
He is a poster child for incarceration and she needs to be kicked out of law enforcement and then prosecuted for gross negligence.

Well, with examples such as Jesse Jackson and the rest of the thug-rap crowd - how are African-American boys supposed to learn to be responsible fathers?
Jesse Jackson should be shown up as the fraud he is to and by blacks and whites everywhere.
How about showing positive role models as fathers who aspire to raise families? Instead of as thug murderers? Accentuate Shaq the father adn role model even more then his b.b. qualities.
Glorify responsible behavior and demand responsibility.
