Two days after being sworn-in to a new term, on Cincinnati council member has his sights set on a bigger office.
The Enquirer reports Democrat John Cranley says he wants to run against Republican Congressman Steve Chabot next year.
This wouldn't be Cranley's first time taking a shot at Congress.
He ran against Chabot in 2000, winning 45% of the vote.
The Enquirer says Cranley filed papers with the Federal Election Commission creating a congressional campaign committee.
Kept his word for 2 whole days.
Give him some credit. That's an all-time record for modern 'Rats.
For a Demoncrat, I like John. Cincinnati like all Urban areas has become a Democratic stronghold. John was one of the few reasonable members of the last council and the highest vote getter in the recent election. It may have gone to his head.
Next congressional election I will vote to keep him on council.
Nice way to put it. ;-)
