I am interested in compiling a ping list for those memebrs of Arab ancestry.
My ancestors were from Lebanon.
The national news gives non-Arab citizens here in the United States a false impression of Arab descendants. The great majority of of us are Christian, conservative, highly educated, and passionately pro-American.
If you have some stats, or would like to form a pinglist, please reply. Thx

This is a subject of great interest to me, since I'm an American-born Christian of Syrian descent. You can add me to your ping list.

As an immigrant from Lebanon this is the first time I agree with your post :)
PS: Lebanese Christians are not ethnically Arabs even though they speak Arabic. So I do not like to be called Arab because it is not true.

While this is good news, I question it's relevance. Christians from the "Arab World" coming to this country will assimilate quite nicely. It's the muzzy immigrants that have to be watched. I have seen little sign of assimilation there.

The great majority of of us [of Lebanese descent] are Christian, conservative, highly educated, and passionately pro-American. Lebanese Christians are not ethnically Arabs even though they speak Arabic. So where does that leave ethnic Arabs?

Luckily, since the huge March 14 demonstration in Lebanon that pressured Syria to leave, Lebanese Christians and Muslims have been much closer together. The trick now is not to let the old guard leaders who started coming back to divide us again.
While I am passionately Christian, when someone asks me where I'm from, I just say proudly that I'm from Lebanon. I am passionately pro-US, and gladly realize that without George W Bush and the US, Syria would still be occupying Lebanon.
We now have to somehow deal with Hezbollah before they cause another war with Israel.

The religion affilitation is overwhelmingly Christian. Muslim makes up about 22%. A thing to remember!

You may already be aware of Joseph Farah, the founder of wnd.com, a news site which is often linked at this site. If not, check out wnd. Farah is of Lebanese Christian descent. He writes a daily column for wnd which you can search for information. I have corresponded with him briefly and I have found him to be very gracious and forthcoming.

My uncle married a fine Lebanese (from Lavan in Genesis) woman. The Lebanese I have been blessed to know are worlds apart from the scum coming from arab lands currently.

JFK?
Ha!
Tell this to any RATs you know:
Here is what the famous Lebanese author Kahlil Gibran wrote:
"Are you a politician asking what your country can do for you or a zealous one asking what you can do for your country?"
Tell your RATs "friends" that JFK was a plagiarist and drive them ballistic!

Excellent post...and keep educating those who do not realize that most Arabs in the US are Christians!
For the most part "Arab" is not "Muslim"!

It would be interesting to note whether the Arabs who immigrated converted to Christianity before or after they arrived in the U.S (or came from families that always were Christian).
