Is a Bush endorsement of McCain enough to sway your opinion?

Posted on 12/04/2005 9:19:56 AM PST by cubram

Some on the morning talk shows suggested that McCain is the natural successor to Bush for his committment to the war, and that Bush will "pass the baton" to him.

My question is: if Bush endorses McCain will you think aboout voting for him? Personally I don't care for McCain for a number of reasons, but if I think he will continue W's legacy, I might reconsider.

What do you think?

Endorsements do not carry the weight that they used to.

"My landlord is a Yankee liberal & was a strong pro-Kerry supporter in the '04 election, & he said that McCain is the only Republican he would support."

And that, dear FRiends, is why I will never support McVain.

NO WAY!

If the GOP puts up any RINO, I will vote for a 3rd party.

Yes, even if Hillary or Kerry is the Dem candidate.

And what legacy?

Profligate spending?

More and bigger government?

No thanks.

McCain has a lifetime ACU rating of 86, and rated a 72 in 2004.

Okay, I'll bite.

What's his stance on illegal immigration?

What's his stance on abortion?

What's his stance on Second Amendment rights?

What's his stance on the War on Terror?

What's his stance on the liberation of Iraq?

What's his stance on artificial "exit strategies"?

What's his stance on cutting welfare and other socialist programs?

What's his stance on tax cuts?

Now for each of these, reconcile them with his voting record.

Go ahead. Do it.

John McCain is called a mavarick, an a-hole, a RINO, not a conservative and many other assorted nicknames. Bottomline. McCain is pro-defense and pro-life. He supports limited govt in the form of eliminating waste fraud and abuse and he supports reasonable tax reform. McCain may not be the perfect conservative, but his overall voting record and his ACU ratings make him no more or no less conservative then GWBush.

If Bush endorsed McMainiac I'd want Bush impeached, even if he only had a couple days left in his term.

Its good to see someone with the courage to post this...I'm beginning to believe it myself.

Good, because it's true. President Bush was trained by papa Bush who swore an allegiance to the UN. He's trained his boys well. I "heard" Jeb Bush say that he wants FL to be one of the central hubs for international (global) trade.

An endorsement of anyone by Bush means nothing to me.

"so in your opinion one should stay in the car? hey...good luck to you!"

As I said, getting out of the car means one would have to leave the country. It matters not if my choice becomes president or not. Whomever becomes president, he/she becomes my president and I'll support him/her right up to the next set of primaries (or general election depending upon which party the winner is from).

McCain/Feingold CFR...

Why would anyone vote for a co-sponsor of one of the most Anti-Free Speech, Anti-Average Joe, Un-American and Un-Constitutional turds disquised as legislation for Commander-in-Chief?

Hmmmm?

Get with it, folks

Don't forget that LIEberman & McCain are both members of the despicable Council on Foreign Relations (along w/ Sens. Kerry, Biden, & Feinstein, Newt Gingrich, VP Cheney, Presidents Clinton, "New World Order" Bush I, & Carter, Sec. of State Rice, Colin Powell, etc., etc., etc.).

McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform?

Tobacco settlements?

This was the some of the worst legislation ever to come out of Congress and there's been lots of bad stuff.

He's a nut case and a statist. I refer to him as the Manchurian Candidate.

I will not vote for McCain in the primary election. However, in the general election it would depend who his opponent would be. LOTE
