Yesterday, many freepers helped me send a message to Gale Norton and others to put a stop to Paul Murdoch's pro-Islamo-fascist design for the Flight 93 Memorial. Thanks to everyone for that, and I invite you again to help out this weekend, so that on Monday, there will be plenty of these messages in their in-boxes.
The message is a protest letter that you can find on my website. It is super easy to use and will hardly take any of your time -- just enter your name (anything goes) and/or email and location, click the send button, and confirm it. The letter will go to all concerned parties, and you will receive a copy as well.
Please help stop this liberal nonsense.
Regards, A M Siriano
THIS HAS BEEN STOPPED.
"THIS HAS BEEN STOPPED."
I heard the same thing.
An explaination from you is in order.
Not entirely - the "tower of voices" memorializes FORTY FOUR souls - 4 of which were the terrorists. This just can not be left to stand.
I haven't been following this story. Is there a crescent (or some other Islamic symbol) on the design? If so, can you post the image?
This is about the redesign.
It still has problem features.
Redesigned Flight 93 memorial still an Islamo-fascist shrine
The redesigned flight 93 memorial, announced today, still contains all of the features that made it a terrorist memorial. Architect Paul Murdoch's infamous red crescent is still there, still planted with red maple trees, still inscribed in the exact same circle as before, and with the same two crescent tips still intact. Thus the crescent bisector defined by these crescent tips is also the same as before. It still points almost exactly to Mecca, making the crescent a Mihrab (an Islamic prayer station, where the believer faces into a crescent, towards Mecca, to perform his ritual prostrations). The design still incorporates a separate upper terrorist-memorial wall, centered precisely on the red-maple crescent [placing this upper section of wall, and the copse of trees that surround it, precisely in the location of the star on an Islamic flag]. There are still 44 translucent blocks on the flight path to the crash site, matching the total number of dead, instead of just the forty translucent blocks that are dedicated to the forty murdered Americans. Lastly, the Tower of Voices part of the memorial is still an Islamic prayer-time sundial.

The only thing that has been stopped is they have made slight changes to the Crescent, removed the name "Crescent of Embrace," and are now calling it a bowl. The rest of the entire memorial continues to exist as a shrine to the terrorists. The architect is a liberal who believes that terrorists can be won over and that "inclusion" is the way to bring peace to the world. I have proof of his intent from a letter I received from one of his relations. The entire design includes Islamic symbolism and there is not a single cross or flag to be found on the site. The media is lying about this being "stopped."
Typical of the media is this article: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=1358444
The truth about this new design (linked in my original message): http://errortheory.blogspot.com/2005/11/redesigned-flight-93-memorial-still_30.html
Michelle Malkin and several others came out stongly against the original design.
Have they taken a position on this new design? It has been available online for about a week.
What is it with these architects?
Michelle Malkin first saw not much to complain about, other than it being a loser of a design, but she has since linked to Alex Rawls' analysis. Little Green Footballs has also spread the word.
My e-mail conversations with a relation of Paul Murdoch revealed a strong Leftist bent, a "blame America first" mentality, and a love for multiculturalism, which is itself a Marxist ideal that demands no culture can be better than another, even if that culture promotes Islamo-fascism and justifies terrorism.
A protester of my protest letter wrote these scary words yesterday: "Who made you judge of the [Muslim] victims? What did you do for them when they were forced to consider such drastic actions?" Straight from the Soviet Union of Berkeley, folks.

Paging Bill O'Reily
I have helpoed lead the charge against the orignal design. I have looked at the documents on this new one. If they are true to it, although it is not ideal from my perspective, it will be passable.
Why in the EFF don't they hire a new firm?
You really have to watch some architects....particularly landscape....the latter are almost always greenie lefties.
Damn shame....I loathe folks like this.
Pang!
I just checked Michelle Malkin's website.
She,apparently, is still unaware of how the minimal changes to the site have done nothing to address the real complaint.
Have you tried to update her?
