Gift from Canada?

Why does President Bush hope Christmas comes a little late this year? Because on Jan. 23, Canada may elect the most pro-American leader in the Western world. Free-market economist Stephen Harper, leader of the opposition Conservative Party, is pro-free trade, pro-Iraq war, anti-Kyoto, and socially conservative. Move over Tony Blair: If elected, Mr. Harper will quickly become Mr. Bush's new best friend internationally and the poster boy for his ideal foreign leader. Both north and south of the U.S.-Canada border, this vote matters. Canadians are facing an election that may be the closest in a generation. The first opinion poll of the campaign, a new CanWest News Service/Global News survey by Ipsos Reid, finds Prime Minister Paul Martin's center-left Liberal Party tied with Harper's Conservatives at 31 percent support each. Over the cold, wintry eight-week campaign, there is everything to play for on both sides of the partisan and ideological divide. If Martin's Liberal Party is re-elected for the fourth consecutive time, Canadian taxpayers will continue footing the bill for an expensive welfare state epitomized by its archaic government-run health-care system. Social policy experimentation on issues such as drugs and homosexual rights will continue in an incremental but decidedly progressive direction.

Does anyone know if a conservative Canadian government would allow us to plan missile defense for Canada again?

They endorsed the missile defense plan as a party, it would come up to a free vote though.

I've always wondered "what if pot legalization were to happen, then many liberal voters would be too high to vote for liberal politics." BUT, then I have to wonder if a relaxing of a moral code of decency to outdo human adversity is human action that God would accept.
Americans legalizing abortion means that since the year 2000, Democrats just don't have the numbers to vote in their liberal Socialist agenda (except in certain urban centers). But, it also means that millions go without those who've never breathed their first breath of air, the industry and economy they'd have provided, and the companionship and love they would have given. Perhaps a hard heart might reflect, "Screw the liberals' dead aborted babies that they never loved," but the hard heart is the causality of undue burden that survivors of abortion must render to the retired and do no work to fund their retirement. Conservatives don't euthanize the aging liberal population, but we can refuse to pay for their retirement. Hence, no rest for the wicked.
It would have been better to never have aborted who could have been my wife and the population that might have eased me of having to pay a huge tax for being single, alone, but industrious. Today's generation is enslaved to American Socialism, but this is our cross to bear so that all might recognize right from wrong and convert their hearts to Good.
Is it wrong to want that day when I can turn to the playboy old man and woman and say, "Get you to work for my back will suffer you no more."? It would not be of spite, I promise, but loving discipline that should have been from they instead of the poetic justice of their following generation.

Abrupt, conclusive revelations from U.S. intelligence sources linking past Liberal vermin with Soviet espionage and current ones with things like the UN's 'Oil For Food' program would be sincerely and eternally appreciated!
