Yep. It is not that hard to say whatever the holiday is--Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's. This pc has gone far enough. If we let them get away with this, what will be next?

I have just asked my local paper to do a story on this and find the stores that are not afraid of the word Christmas.

Sure but if I just see someone in passing that I doubt I will see again during the holidays, I tend to wish "happy holidays" instead of making a list. To people working in the stores who are busy all season, I do the same.

That said, when I leave work for Christmas vacation, I will wish my co-workers, etc. a Merry Chrismas. Same with family and friends that I see fairly often.

Don't get me wrong, I see your point. If you Google "Christmas Sale" you are going to be very disappointed. Evidently, no major retailers use that anymore.

I noticed PetSmart did this one year. In their store, they had Hanukah signs, Kwanza signs, and Navidad signs but no Christmas signs. I think these people think "Navidad" is more ethnic and if anyone takes offense to that word they could be accused of being a racist. "Christmas" is fair game because we are being indoctrinated to thinking it's a dirty word. I guess being an American Christians is more offensive than being a Hispanic one.

Forget "Happy Holidays".  It is a non-issue!

To me, "Happy Holidays" means Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas AND Happy New Year!  3 greetings in one.  In 35 days we have 3 holidays, a holiday season.

Now, get really pissed when you see the sign:

Merry X-mas.

THAT is crossing out Christ!

I was at the Lowes in New Hudson, MI a couple of days ago and there were a number of label signs that said specifically "Christmas Trees" clearly visible.

I agree...this is ridiculous! Happy Holidays is ok. It can refer to Christmas, Hannukah and New Years! Say Christmas if you want...no one used to get upset before. If I knew someone was not Christian I said, Happy Holidays. They often said Merry Christmas to me.

That's right, money talks and suckers walk.

It will take time beating business over the head in this manner but they will listen to the bottom line of their profit margins. When profits hit the skids people lose their jobs and change follows soon after.

The MSM is a different story, it is partisan politics in play and profits be damned, at least for now.

Actualmente, el dia santo. Holidays such as Easter and Christmas are referred to as Pascua.

Same here.

With few retailers willing to say the vulgar C-word, I've ended up making hand-made gifts this year for my large extended family. I saved a bunch of money, it's much more personal, and I think I'll do the same thing next year.

If others are doing the same, American retailers may be starting a trend that is not in their best interest...

I don't see a lot of people complaining about hearing "Happy Holidays" from store employees. That's not the real issue here. Personally, it doesn't bother me at all, nor would it offend me if a Jewish person wished me a happy Hannukkah.

However, it does offend me when retailers engage in sillyness like changing the name of Christmas trees to "Holiday trees". What else would the trees be? The retailers are sending a strong signal that they'd rather make the 1% of American ACLU-loving moonbats happy than the 96% of American that celebrate Christmas.

As a long-term customer, that offends me, so I'll simply take my business to another retailer that isn't ashamed of me and my Christian holy day.

Actually I believe "X" was the greek symbol for "Christ" used by early Christians. So, when people write X-mas intending to take Christ out of Christmas, they are actually doing the opposite! G-d works in mysterious ways! I hope Target loses a lot of business for banning the Salvation Army bell ringers.

I'd heard that Penneys was one of the good guys -- was using "Christmas". Was all set to buy a truckload of gift certificates there for family and friends. So now I'm confused...
