Great idea to back up access during problem periods.
Does anyone have the access data For Free Republic?
Having it all in one thread would be nice.

Well, ironically enough, I use FD as a fallback site when FR is slow or down.
However, I just stumbled on FD's front page, which mentions that due to a hitcounter error, what they though was 800,000 page views is actually closer to 3,000,000 and they must once again migrate to another server.

Question, in general, for Freepers -
I've been away from FR for a number of years, used to be really active on here,
but it got to be an echo chamber of sorts.
I admit it's a bit sadistic on my part, but I like to slam on leftists, and there just weren't enough here to hunt.
What's it like these days?

Most ardent leftists here can't contain themselves, get nasty, and get quickly zotted. However, it's not necessarily an echo chamber, either, since many right-leaning factions argue with each other all the time.
To: beezdotcom
We do not. Why don't you just shut the hell up if you can't see the truth before your eyes! Wew are all just a bunch of mind numbed bush-bots who have lost the art of debate. < /obvious absurdity>
Actually, there is MUCH disagreement on issues such as the border, the war on drugs, correct grammar and spelling, etc.
By no means an echo chamber, from my perspective at least.

Ann C last night stated it pretty well -
most leftists, unused to having their ideology challenged, are unable to form cogent arguments, and resort to profanity and violence.

Oh YEAH? blah blah blah blah HITLER blah blah blah blah SCHIAVO blah blah blah blah Christmas blah blah blah HARRIET MIERS!!!!!
To: MrB; MurryMom
I have been here for a couple of years. There are slap downs, heated arguments, and a lot of funny posts and replies.
As for the leftists, there are a few that still care to post.

Well, New Orleans DESERVED it, NAZI! (Not you)< /more absurity>
Wouldn't it be fun to have a vanity thread to get this ALL out in the open!

Hmm...it COULD be fun...it could ALSO spiral into a nasty, vitriolic flame war.
Notice I didn't say those were mutually exclusive.

MurryMom is STILL HERE?
That's hilarious...
She's the closest example of a FR poster that sounds like a Yahoo "liberal"

".it could ALSO spiral into a nasty, vitriolic flame war."Is that possible in an "echo chamber?

Well, I suppose finding the resonance frequency of any echo chamber could create an opportunity for some sonic damage. Why don't you start by telling a FR version of "The Aristocrats" joke (throw in all the sacred cows), and see if THAT hits resonance frequency?
I'll just sit back and watch the body count.
To: beezdotcom
"The Aristocrats" joke Sounds interesting... go for it.

OH no...not under THIS screenname. I like my posting privileges too much. (translation, I'm chicken).
Here's a version that defames W...shouldn't take too much editing to make it insult every last FReeper here (including ourselves). YOU run with it, and I'll watch as you get outed as "a sleeper troll"...
